The First Choice

In this episode of the tech podcast "The First Choice", host Silvio takes listeners back to his school days when he and his friend, Sean, were preparing for the Michigan Industrial Technology and Engineering competition (MITE). As they built their individual robots, a shared passion for technology and a spirited competitiveness bound them together. Only on the day of the competition, Sean's robot failed. This gave Silvio an easy pathway to victory, but instead of capitalizing on Sean's misfortune, he chose to help repair the robot, valuing their friendship and his integrity over the win. Silvio's journey underlines that success in competitions isn't just about the win but also about the journey, the learning, and most importantly, the human values upheld.
