Flooded
This was a light-read, and yet a very personal memoir at the same time. In brief, vignette-style chapters, Leslie Parrott explores a seemingly endless selection of metaphors of rain/water/weather. The only other Parrott book I had read was "Saving Your Marriage Before It Starts (Inspirio/Zondervan Miniature Editions)" - which I read in my pre-marriage counseling! This certainly wasn't as deep or as instructional as that, but it was a nice little collection of devotional-type pieces.
A book that points you to God's presence when you are in the middle of loss and grief....
This is a book about some very personal losses and grief in Leslie Parrott's life. She shares her personal pain and how she turned to God in that pain. I appreciate her vulnerability and her openness. She is humble and brave. I would absolutely recommend this book to anyone who is hurting or grieving.

Obtained book because it was free. Sorry I didn't read a review beforehand, or I wouldn't have bothered. Am NOT interested in essays and/or musings about religion or religious beliefs. I read for fun, enjoyment...
More evangelical brainwashing
The sudden profusion of evangelical free Kindle books on Amazon is indicative of an organized strategy to convert the masses. This is just another of those books, which despite the beautiful language and imagery, is strictly for those with a biblical bent. The author seeks to combine poetry and literature with introspective musings on her faith and daily life, but it remains nonetheless a transparent attempt to use kindle to diffuse christian ideology.
