What does justice look like when someone takes another person's life? On this episode of The Fishbowl with Jade, we dive deep into one of the most complicated and emotionally charged issues in the justice system.

From the history of capital punishment and America's earliest recorded executions to wrongful convictions, victims' families, deterrence, life without parole, states that have abolished the death penalty, and the question of whether those states experience more crime, Jade examines the many sides of this conversation.

But the deepest question may not be whether you're for or against the death penalty. It's what you believe justice is supposed to accomplish.

Should the government have the power to take a life as punishment? Can execution ever be separated from revenge? What happens when an execution is delayed or stopped? And how much risk of an irreversible mistake is society willing to accept?

This isn't a conversation designed to tell you what to think.

It's designed to make you think.

Do you deserve it or do you simply believe someone owes it to you?

Entitlement can show up in the places we least expect marriage, relationships, friendships, family, money, boundaries, and even love. But what happens when your expectations aren't actually agreements? What happens when “after everything I've done for you” becomes a debt? And what if the person you keep calling entitled is simply setting a boundary?

Jade looks at both sides of entitlement through real-life scenarios and uncomfortable questions, including one we may not want to answer: What if the entitled person is you?

From maintaining community standards to those moments that make you say, “Wait, they can tell me THAT?” We’re looking at the issue from all sides so you can decide whether HOA living is right for you.

What happens when a marriage ends, but the friendships surrounding that marriage change too? Why do mutual friends sometimes feel pressured to choose a side? And does staying friends with both people make someone disloyal?

In this episode of The Fishbowl with Jade, we dive into the psychological, social, and emotional sides of divorce and the impact it can have on friendships and families. We explore what happens when there are no children, pets, businesses, or other ties connecting the former couple, whether mutual friends should be expected to choose, and whether relationships with former in-laws should continue.

We also talk about the complicated situation when your parents or family members still love your ex. Can your mother still care about the person she once considered her son-in-law? Can your former in-laws still consider you family? And where should the boundaries be?

Is choosing a side about loyalty, or is it sometimes about avoiding conflict? Can people genuinely maintain relationships with both sides without becoming caught in the middle?

There may not be one right answer, but there is certainly a conversation worth having.

Why does a man with an accent suddenly sound more romantic? Why do movies and television often portray international men as mysterious, sophisticated, passionate, and irresistible? Is it the accent, the culture, the way they approach romance, or have we simply been taught to fall in love with the fantasy?

And here's where the conversation gets even more interesting. I recently came across a man who said he needed an international woman. So, if women can romanticize international men, why do some American men specifically seek international women? Is it about culture, traditional relationship expectations, femininity, or simply believing they may find something different outside of the United States?

We're looking at both sides of the conversation and separating the fantasy from the reality on this episode of The Fishbowl with Jade. 🐠

We're talking about fashion, body confidence, beauty standards, BBL culture, social media, generations, personal choice, and the assumptions we make about women based on what they wear. You can dislike an outfit without disliking the woman wearing it. You can choose modesty without judging someone who chooses something different. And you can embrace your body without owing anyone an explanation.

Who Gets Grace? Who Gets Accountability? And Who Decides When Enough Is Enough?

This week on The Fishbowl with Jade, we're taking a deeper look at how we judge entertainers, public figures, politicians, victims, and even ourselves. Why do we sometimes hold people we don't know to higher standards than those we know personally? Who asked entertainers to be our role models, and when does accountability become permanent punishment?

In this episode of The Fishbowl with Jade, Jade challenges the idea that having a disability automatically means someone receives enough assistance to live comfortably, doesn’t need to work, or has no financial struggles.

This conversation looks beyond the disability and focuses on the person. We talk about employment, reasonable accommodations, invisible disabilities, entrepreneurship, financial realities, and the incredible talents people with disabilities bring to companies, businesses, families, and communities. We also explore why receiving assistance should never be confused with being financially secure and why needing support does not erase someone's independence, ambition, intelligence, or potential.

Jade also asks employers and society to reconsider the way we define ability. What if instead of immediately asking what someone cannot do, we asked what they can do and what tools or opportunities could help them succeed? From professionals and entrepreneurs to parents, students, artists, and employees, people with disabilities have talents and experiences that deserve to be recognized.

This isn't a conversation about pity. It's about dignity, opportunity, inclusion, accessibility, and possibility.

Because sometimes the greatest limitation isn't what a person can or cannot do. Sometimes it's what the rest of us assume they can't do.
