Family Statement on the passing of George Foreman:
"With profound sorrow, we announce the passing of our beloved George Edward Foreman, Sr who peacefully departed on March 21, 2025 surrounded by loved ones."
"A devout preacher, a devoted husband, a loving father, and a proud grand and great grandfather, he lived a life marked by unwavering faith, humility, and purpose."
RIP to one of my personal heroes and favorite sports athletes. There will never be another George Foreman.

PARADISE (Disney+/HULU) starring Sterling K. Brown, James Marsden.

Welcome back to the Fixate & Binge Podcast -- in this latest episode, Joe discusses the ugly campaign picking up steam with the casting announcements for HBO's new Harry Potter series and discusses (with examples) why this is hypocrisy of the highest order and a huge step back towards tolerance and equality.
Joe also discusses two new films -- one of which is streaming now on Netflix: THE ELECTRIC STATE starring Millie Bobby Brown and Chris Pratt that seems like an enormous waste of Netflix subscription money being flushed down the toilet.
The other, is a reminder that the spy thriller subgenera is still very much alive in Steven Soderbergh's BLACK BAG starring Michael Fassbender and Cate Blanchett, a flawless film of espionage and intrigue rarely captured this well in cinema. In cinemas now, don't miss it!

Welcome back to our 8th episode of 2025!
It's been delayed almost an entire year, but it's finally here -- Bong Joon-ho's MICKEY 17 -- the first great film of 2025!
Tune in to hear Joe's mostly-spoiler-free take on what the film means, what other films are similar in theme, and why Joe boldly claims that Bong Joon-ho is becoming our generation's Stanley Kubrick!
Also discussed -- Amazon Prime's REACHER -- in its third season and capably being carried by a very game Alan Ritchson in the title role.
So tune in to hear why MICKEY 17 is can't-miss cinema in 2025 and if you want to read Joe's full review on Letterboxd, click here.

Well, that's a wrap on the 97th Academy Awards for 2025 -- and boy did my predictions from the previous episode humble me!
Tune in to hear what I got wrong and why -- and what surprised this year more than previous years.
Also discussed -- Letterboxd reviews for Netflix's short, political series ZERO DAY, starring Robert De Niro, and Osgood Perkins' latest horror film currently in cinemas THE MONKEY.
I also bid -- perhaps for good -- farewell after more than 40 years of love to the James Bond franchise as it's finally been wrested from the hands of the Broccoli family with Amazon's latest coup.
What a shame.
Now, the James Bond franchise will no longer go forward the way Ian Fleming, Harry Saltzman, Albert R. Broccoli and the Broccoli children Michael G. Wilson and Barbara never intended -- with decisions to be made via committee as the IP of James Bond becomes commodified. It will never be the same.

On Sunday, March 2, 2025, the 97th Academy Awards broadcast will anoint its winners in esteemed categories that have been coveted for nearly 100 years by producers, actors, screenwriters and directors since Tinseltown first conceived of the awards ceremony.
Viewed from around the world by a growing cinematic community, countless critics, bloggers and podcasters have made their predictions.
The Fixate & Binge Podcast is making theirs -- and for the major categories, you will not want to miss this special episode. Will I get it wrong? Is there an upset brewing on March 2nd that will be talked about for years to come?
Tune in to hear my best guess why I've made my choices and feel free to give me a "I toldya so" response for the ones I got wrong!
Additionally, I also (finally) list the best films of 2024 -- a delay that I offer an explanation for, and one that will likely require 2025's Best Film list to be explained in early 2026, and so on!

Welcome to Season 3, Episode 3 of The Fixate & Binge Podcast!
This week's episode, I was honored to have Harry Marks of Lobby Intros drop by to discuss his recent viral TikTok review of Robert Eggers' NOSFERATU -- which has received (to date) over 1-million views!
Harry also offers his insight on why classic cinema matters, where to get started for anyone hoping to start broadening their cinematic understanding with classic films from the past, and the worrying trend of so many incurious film students today are overlooking what made cinema so great.
You can access Harry's content in a variety of ways -- from his classic cinema introductions available on his YouTube Channel (and also available on the free-to-stream app Mometu), as well as his Instagram HERE -- and especially on his TikTok account available HERE.

Welcome to 2025 and a brand new year of The Fixate & Binge Podcast!
In this episode, Netflix's new hit show -- AMERICAN PRIMEVAL -- is reviewed, but the question lingers: was there a better, more factually based story to be told from the Territory of Utah in the mid-19th century? Joe weighs in with some Mormon history...
Joe also addresses news that streaming giants like Netflix are actively adjusting their content in the writing room to accommodate distracted subscribers who use their cell phones while watching content streaming on their platforms. Will this shift in content end the Golden Age of Television?
Plus, The Fixate & BInge Podcast shares its' Letterboxd review of EMILIA PERÉZ -- the surprising winner of Best Picture in a Musical or Comedy at the 82nd Golden Globes -- an awards precursor to the Oscars.
Thank you for stopping by, and I hope you're as excited as I am about the new year which is sure to bring its share of incredible television and cinema moments to celebrate and discuss on this podcast! Stay tuned!
