Content Disclaimer: The Flaming Sword makes no blanket endorsement for every position or doctrine of the various resources we suggest or the guest we have on. We do stand behind our goal to teach "Christ Crucified," which from our perspective, means we will stand with others on the essentials and give grace and love on what we consider to be non essentials. We try to make sure our programming only consists of those who support the essential position of salvation through Christ alone. That being said, there may be other differences, such as in matters of Eschatology, or other positions generally along the lines of denominational stances, that we at The Flaming Sword may or may not particularly endorse.

Joel and Darin interview guest Cody Cook on Conditional Immortality, in our normal fast paced, with a touch of humor way.
Note: Cody couldn't get into a lot of scripture because of our short time table, but we think this was an excellent introduction to the topic and the link below to Re-Thinking Hell is a great place to explore further. Joel and I will also do a bit of review in our next Podcast!

Joel and Darin wrap up their series on what some consider a "heretical" view of Eschatology (study of the end times) in our normal fast paced, with touch of humor way. Next week, we have a guest to discuss the doctrine of Conditional Immortality!
We hope this series at the very least, showed that Jesus's prophecy of Him coming back to that generation was fulfilled in AD 66-70, which was the tribulation period that both Jesus and the Apostles and the Old T were all pointing to.

Joel and Darin continue their series on what some consider a "heretical" view of Eschatology (study of the end times) in our normal, fast paced with touch of humor way.
We continue to discuss Matthew 24 and the fact that it was Old T Israel who were warned of tribulation to come on them for their disobedience. We get into some of the events of AD 70, which were horrific, and show that the timing of that event directly corresponds to what Jesus had said, thus not only proving the prophecy, but demanding that at the very least, this was a coming of Jesus.
Don't believe us? We'll try to change that...
This is Part 8 of a 9 part series, one more episode after this, but stay with us, we have a guest that will be discussing Conditional Immortality, that "hell" as traditionally viewed is NOT in the bible.

Here we pick up where we left off and continue going through the Olivet Discourse and discussing what the New T authors meant by "world", with the gospel already being preached to everyone then. Yes, we'll prove it, Paul even said it. Who was the tribulation coming to? It wasn't us, it was them! Jesus was coming back then, just as He said.

Last episode, we began to discuss the Olivet Discourse, which if taken as is, proves Jesus did come back already. Here we pick up where we left off and continue going through the Discourse, where we give the evidence pointing to Jesus's return, when, where, and to whom...and the signs that were happening leading up to it.

We've introduced the "Preterist" view doing a lot of discussion on "Time Statements" and "Audience Relevance" or what Joel calls A.R.T.'s Way. Last episode, we discussed John the Baptist, which is where we'll begin, and we end up beginning to discuss the Olivet Discourse, which if taken as is, proves Jesus did come back already.

Last episode we also revealed that the events of AD 70 are significant. Here, we'll get into more timing with "John the Baptist" a.k.a. Elijah, giving even more evidence that the "last days" are the "past days".

We've introduced the "Preterist" view doing a lot of discussion on "Time Statements" and "Audience Relevance". Here, we'll continue to build our case, that whatever the "last days" were, they happened back then. We start to get into "Apocalyptic language", and mention that events that happened in AD 70, were what the last days were pointing to.
