Welcome to the very first episode of The Flannel Wizard ~ I am your host, Ser Ezra the Watchful, and I am so incredibly excited to finally begin this journey with you. Moving forward, this show will be your weekly hub for the biggest news, deep dives, and lore across all our favorite fandoms—from a galaxy far, far away, to the halls of Hogwarts, the realms of Middle-earth, the fiery skies of Westeros, the DC universe, and beyond.

But before we start breaking down the weekly news, I wanted to take this inaugural episode to properly introduce myself and share my ultimate origin story.

In this episode, I pull back the curtain on my life, starting with my childhood battle with a severe bone disease. When my world got small, I found an escape by learning the ways of the Force, and Star Wars gave me the strength to cope. I open up about navigating adolescence, the heavy transition into adulthood, the profound loss of my mother, and my fight with depression. Through it all, these fantasy worlds were my Fortress of Solitude.

Finally, we talk about how those dark chapters eventually led me to the microphone. I share the story of how my passion for fandom evolved into podcasting and inspired all of my current projects and eventually led me to my soulmate :)
