I could not be happier than fulfilling my dream of recording and releasing The Focused Fight on audio (there have been many requests over the last few years). As this book is released in audio episodes, which is fantastic for spreading the message, I have designs on one audiobook that can be uploaded to KDP/Amazon and listened to all at once, etc., perhaps in 2025. Since I had to convert with a click of a button my recording files to MP3 files, I am all set to upload them all to that platform. It just takes time.

Today is the last day I will be reading from my memoir, The Focused Fight: A Childhood Cancer Journey: From Mayhem to Miracles, which I will finish on the last day of September (I will also add Chapter 35 and the Epilogue today). Thirty days went by in a flash! I can’t believe I had to relive the last 25+ years while editing the recordings, but I wouldn’t have it any other way. I’m glad I decided to do this tedious part myself (editing).

It has been a wild ride and a huge joy to share almost the entire audio version of the audio recording/episodes of the book The Focused Fight: A Childhood Cancer Journey From Mayhem to Miracles for the whole month of September. This entire process has been a blessing, especially recording all 325 pages in my voice. Ryan landed in a family that LOVES to hike, especially out west. We love Colorado and the Rocky Mountains, and I have done every hike (long and short) in the Flatirons. When the family was out for a wedding (Caitlin Misencik) in 2017 in Boulder, Ryan was in the mix of seasoned hikers. I begged him to go on an easy hike with the gang. He said he would, but that would be the first and last hike he’d ever do. He’s kept that promise, too (and it’s 2024 as I write this). Ryan doesn’t care for that type of exercise, and I honor that request. But he was a champ that early July morning to shuffle up the fire road to the first Flatiron and back down again.
