Growing up in Donegal, Molly always enjoyed Irish in school. But despite that, she had no intentions of keeping the language in her life after graduating. Eventually, she started to miss the language and returned to it as an adult where she put in the work to do something school had not prepared her for: have real, unscripted comhráite - conversations in Irish. As she herself delved into learning more about natural, conversational and Ulster Irish, she started to share the basics with learners online.
Today, not only does she have incredible Irish that she put in the effort to learn, she is helping others find the joy in learning Irish that she found herself.

Colleen Snyder spent her life living in America knowing two things about herself. One, that she had a rare disease as a child and had never met anyone else who had it. Two, that she was Irish American. In 2020, she did a quick Google search about her condition that turned into a journey into her genetics and the Irish language when she discovered that she had a rare gene mutation that originated in a small area in County Tyrone. Colleen shares lots of experiences and resources she has amassed over the years as she learned more about herself, her genes, and her ancestor’s native language.
