Some lyrics of my own
Song
The Fool
A king in beggar's guise, the fool,
His name echoes throughout the land.
With words he adorns himself, yet bears the louse,
Serves no lord, yet remains in the house.
He speaks what others dare not say,
Amuses the high lords with his tales so gay.
They laugh, his words hold no sway,
Yet he stings many a ruler with wit's sharp ray.
To heed a fool is folly's plight,
Who believes him risks his face, loses the fight.
The fool, a king in his own domain,
Without honor, yet to none the same.
He settles quarrels, brightens the mood,
Keeps warriors in check, maintains the brood.
But his jests twist all awry,
Against the grain they go, causing grief and sigh.
They speak of how he plagues them all,
Unheeded, only mocked in the hall.
Can this go well? The tide will turn,
Even the funniest fool, they'll eventually spurn.
His jests will entice no one anymore,
None will emerge from behind the door.
The people smirk, their thoughts concealed,
And bring about his downfall, his fate is sealed.
