In this episode, Akane quizzed Sadie on shortened Katakana words which are originally from English. In Japanese, there are many shortened words that are easier to say/write; however, sometimes it is difficult to figure out the original words even for native speakers if you are unfamiliar with current trends. Let's see how Sadie did well!!

In this episode, Akane and Sadie talk about various Japanese bands that chose to show off some of their creativity by using English in their names in rather unique ways. All of our discussions and guesses about each band name's meaning are purely speculative and just for fun! We hope you enjoy and maybe even learn of a few new bands to go check out if you feel so inclined.
*Note from Sadie: I apologize that my audio appeared to be a bit crackly throughout this episode. Will be looking into why that happened. Thank you for your patience!

Although you try to be nice and give compliments, it does not mean always receiving as you think in another country or culture. We discussed how we feel when we receive Japanese and American styles compliments.
