Elliott Hulse is a strength coach, author, mentor, and spiritual teacher whose work has impacted millions of men around the world. Rising to prominence through his YouTube channel, Elliott pioneered a message that fitness is not just about building muscle, but about the process of transformation and “becoming the strongest version of yourself”—physically, emotionally, and spiritually.
Drawing from strength training, bioenergetics, the work of Carl Jung and Wilhelm Reich, Christian mysticism, and depth psychology, Elliott helps men integrate body, mind, and soul. He is known for Grounding Camps, where collectives of men explore masculine initiation, rites of passage, and embodiment He is known for his uncompromising emphasis on character, courage, and surrender to divine grace.
In recent years, Elliott has shifted much of his focus from fitness content to wisdom teaching—speaking on the integration of faith, embodiment, family, and leadership in a rapidly changing world.
In this episode, I sit down with one of the most influential figures in my life, Elliott Hulse. I found Elliott’s YouTube channel at the age of 19, a few months after my father was diagnosed with cancer.
In desperate need of male role models, I watched every video on Elliott’s channel, completely swept away by the depth of his perspectives on physicality, emotional wellbeing, relationships, surrender, God, entrepreneurship, and family.
In this episode, Elliott and I explore:
- The body as a blueprint for the soul
- Fitness as a spiritual path
- The mother wound and father wound and why so many men feel uninitiated
- The tension between doing and surrender, ego and grace
- What it really means to trust divine providence in a collapsing, rapidly evolving world
Along the way, I share some deeply personal stories—losing my father to cancer, a near-death experience in the ocean, and years of wrestling with dissociation and embodiment—while Elliott brings in Christian theology, Jungian psychology, Reichian character structures, and raw, lived wisdom.
If you’ve ever been touched by Elliott’s work—or if you’re a man (or love men) and care about initiation, courage, and spiritual maturity—this conversation is for you.
Thank you for tuning in
