TRIGGER WARNING: In this episode we briefly talk about death and suicide. May you connect with your intuition on whether this conversation is here for you to be received or not.
With a heart full of gratitude, we are over the moon excited to welcome our first guest to The Forward Movement Podcast, Lexy Davis.
Lexy is the host of the Heart Snuggles Podcast, a Relationship and Dating Coach, a Love Embodiment Coach, and a soul who loves to travel, play outside, and connect with community.
Lexy is here to help romantics find a love that feels like home, while hosting retreats, podcasts, and community events that don't involve alcohol, religion, or sports.
In today’s conversation we explore the inner workings of healthy relations, in addition to the power of communication.
Some golden nuggets from Lexy during our conversation are:
“Be the change of your generation and take that action”
“I myself have been moving through a lot of grief, I find a lot of people around me are moving through grief in some sort of way, or things are just not going as planned and when that happens it can be so easy to just let go of everything, say f* it, give up. And instead, I know I’m struggling, I know this is hard, can I keep moving, and how can I lean on my support more.”
“We all share the same emotions. And when you fall, to not be on the ground by yourself, but to have twenty people there with you is a whole different sensation.”
“It’s really just being open. You don’t have to like, let’s say, go to an ecstatic dance and do something wild if you’re not having the energy for that. But like, go outside, get a coffee, and make eye contact with people.”
“When you do react, and you blow up, and you yell … once you take a moment and it sinks in, even if it’s a week later, going back to that person and bringing in that vulnerability and saying, last week I really overreacted and it’s something I’ve been working on and I feel so much shame even sharing this with you right now, however I just wanna, like, I’m sorry.”
“I have experienced so much death in my life and it’s been a real teacher.”
“How does my nervous system, how does my body, feel amongst this person?”
“Love should feel like home, it should feel super nurturing, it should feel where you can be all of you and accepted.”
