Twenty years ago, I went to my kindergarten class expecting a normal day.

But things didn't unfold that way.

Miss Thorne, my teacher at the time, joins me today to help me remember what September 11, 2001 was like at Skano Elementary (33:41), how that day affected her personally, and how she feels now that Afghanistan has fallen to the Taliban. She also opens up about the tragic moment that changed her life forever (25:00) and I PROMISE we discuss much happier subjects in the beginning of the show, like how she met her husband (my 5th grade teacher) and what a young Troy Farkas was like.
