After reports of two hurricanes already gearing up to head their way to Texas, news of natural disasters got even more wild as reports of an asteroid being slated to hit the US the day before the presidential election has been announced so the guys discuss just to whose convenience it will be. After hitting number 1 on the Apple Music Charts with a Pre Order for his forthcoming album, the Flats get into just how far they feel NBA Youngboy can go and where he sits in terms of Louisiana Legends. Drake debuted at number 2 with ‘Laugh Now Cry Later’ behind ‘WAP’ and the fellas debate whether Drake’s steam of the biggest artist in the world is beginning to die out a bit. Cyhi The Prynce had some interesting comments in regards to screening people before dating in relation to the Megan and Tory situation but the crew takes it a step further to give some concise clarification on just what he should have said. Big Sean dropped his new track ‘Deep Reverence’ featuring Nipsey Hussle and the team dissects his transparency through some of the biggest standout lines in terms of a miscarriage and suicide attempts. After one of Pastor John Gray’s side pieces attempted to extort him again the guys get into just why morality has to be taken into account even for leaders of faith and which Bugatti he plans on buying his wife. To end off the podcast the fellas send their prayers and thoughts to Jacob Blake after the unfortunate murder attempt on his life from cops in Wisconsin and urge the people to be diligent in seeking justice in multiple instances simultaneously. Doja Cat decided to rain on Nas’ release of his latest album ‘King’s Disease’ by announcing she has some bars coming for his headtop. It wouldn’t be a solo effort though. Per usual, after a consistent history of raining on Nas’ parade, Jay-Z was featured on Pharrell’s new track ‘Entrepreneur’. The guys discuss the confirmation of the life long beef between Nas and Hov. The Flats then discuss the falling out between PnB Rock and Rod Wave and why internet disputes can be seen as insurance in certain situations. Lastly, the boys discuss how imperative it is for people of color to allow only doctors of color to care for their children after a shocking ratio suggests so as well. After seeing how influential Tik Tok is, Kanye decided to recreate an app solely for kids called ‘Jesus Tok’ and the crew reflects. Kanye’s wife is doing a bit more of the heavy lifting as Kim Kardashian is now helping to push the motion for C Murder to finally be freed after years of a stagnant case. Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion recently earned their latest number 1 song with ‘WAP’ but the fellas discuss just how they feel when artists, both male and female, give credit to God for successfully exploiting destruction in their music. After reference tracks leaked for ASTROWORLD, the guys discuss if it means anything that Cyhi The Prynce has writing credits for Travis Scott. In this weeks installment of ‘Gas Or Mid’ tracks from Young Dolph, Anderson Paak ft. Rick Ross, and Don Toliver w/ Nav and Gunna are discussed. Donald Trump’s pick for the Presidential Medal of Freedom, Rush Limbaugh, had some disgusting and disrespectful comments in regards to Kamala Harris by calling her out of her name and the boys emphasize just how important it is for us to hold our own down in the mist of this interrogation of a woman of color. News of possible jail time has been discussed for refusing a mandated vaccine and team as a collective debated over which type of posters to have in our cells. Next, A question of what would be the initial reaction as a father having a daughter getting caught up behind boys in adolescence is dropped upon the squad. Senator Kamala Harris was announced as Joe Biden’s pick for his Vice President and the fellas decide whether we’re too woke about the situation, or still sleeping on the possibility of the first ever woman of color to be elected into office. After meeting with attorney general Daniel Cameron, Breonna Taylor’s family feels justice is on the cusps of happening, while the Kentucky Governor is more concerned with a decision before September 5th’s Kentucky Derby. ‘Gas or Mid’ returns as the fellas deep dive into Drake’s new track featuring Lil Durk, and new Nas featuring Hitboy with the gang being as critical as usual. The Flats dive into a deep discussion after Michael B Jordan’s former publicist made some huge allegations in terms of his sexuality and the guys do their best job of copping a plea for Killmonger. The boys try to connect the dots and the disconnect after Akon made some interesting comments in regards to African Americans and getting passed slavery. To end the episode the guys discuss Kemah Siverand getting cut by the Seahawks for trying to sneak some WAP into the teams hotel and Boosie’s plea to “Mark Zuckenberger” over getting his Instagram back. While deep diving the fellas do their best to understand just why women consider certain tactics as being empowering and why the disconnect is so immense. CeeLo had some interesting comments in regards to music after the 70’s being “regressive and distasteful” based on certain women and their choice of substance (Nicki Minaj) so the crew takes the convo a little further. After forcing her white tears on the black community for wrongfully killing Bothem Jean in cold blood, former officer Amber Guyger is now seeking a lower sentence and claims reasonable self defense. The Flats discuss just how imperative it is to be weary of who black people choose to forgive, and not having a monolithic thought in isolated situations as this is. After a wrongful death suit of $1 million dollars for negligence after the tragic drowning on his property, Carl Crawford, denies being held accountable and the guys give an interesting perspective on why that should not be the case at hand. After only two weeks of returning to school in certain states, a whopping 97,000 positive Covid cases have been confirmed. After hearing statements of casualties amongst kids returning to school, the team discusses just how this comes at no surprise. Beyoncé received major criticism behind some of the depictions in her live album ‘Black Is King’ due to some imagery of African culture which some took as demonic. The boys shoot Beyoncé some bail while emphasizing how important it is to educate ourselves on what we perceive to be Holy and Demonic amongst our own community. Lastly, after troubling messages from Azalea Banks, running back Derrius Guise, and tattoo artist Ryan Henry, the guys get into how much spiritual aligning plays a role in mental stability along with outside assistance in troubling times.     In Episode 57, Darian, Shane, Cartie and Jacorey kick off with a recap of their highly controversial battle in last Friday’s episode. The conversation led to the much anticipated battle between Rick Ross and 2 Chainz which didn’t go quite as the listeners expected before hand but was worth the discussion nonetheless. After recent allegations against Takeoff, of The Migos, the fellas do their best of trying to draw a definitive line between judge of character in reference to innocent until proven guilty. In the case of Ellen Degeneres, it may be a different story seeing as how she’s facing multiple allegations of work place discrimination and the crew discuss just how different the situation is in terms of black entertainers. A new installment of ‘Gas or Mid’ is back with new tracks from Meg and Cardi B with ‘Wap’, NBA Youngboy with ‘All In” and Skip Marley with ‘Make Me Feel’ alongside Rick Ross and Ari Lennox. Reports came out that the Republican Party is behind Kanye’s campaign trail and The Flats send an urgent message not to fall for the trickery placed on yet another black figure. After the recent killing of Chicago rapper FBG Duck, the guys express their distaste for the amount of jokes and negligence that surround not only this situation but rap music in general following tragedies. Lastly, the team sends their deepest condolences to the people of Lebanon after the unfortunate exposition that took the lives of hundreds and injured thousands just days ago.     In Episode 56, Darian, JaCorey, Cartie, and Shane along with family to the podcast (and in real life) Dre (Darkskin Killer) kick off the podcast with topics surrounding insecurities amongst men when it comes to a relationship. First, the fellas discuss if the situation presented itself would they feel comfortable having a woman on child support and whether they would be okay with receiving spousal if the opportunity presented itself. The guys also express the importance of understanding the balance between masculine and feminine energy in a relationship and just how much of a factor money plays. The topic of family seemed reoccurring so it was necessary for the crew to discuss the unlearning process of traumatic parenting. The conversation broadened as they shift gears to comparing the ways men were expecting to be fathers in past generations in reference to living in 2020 and what they look forward to most in fatherhood. Although the world is doing its best effort of going back to normal, the saddening and angering full footage of the George Floyd apprehension was finally released.     In Episode 55, Darian JaCorey and Shane kick the joint off with expressing their sentiments for former GOP Presidential Candidate Herman Cain after he suddenly lost his life due to Covid-19 after attending a Trump rally in Tulsa to spread “No Mask” rhetoric just nine days prior to his untimely death. The next Verzuz matchup is set with Rick Ross Vs. 2 Chainz so the gang had to give their early thoughts on who will take the W. After a viral video of a woman receiving hidden DNA results on her anniversary instead of tickets to Dubai, the fellas discuss just how dangerous it can be to reward trash behavior unknowingly. Next the guys talk about the limits and restrictions that should be made when your partner has friends of the same preference that are too “touchy-feely” to say the least... J. Cole may have announced his interest in the possibility trying out for an NBA roster spot with some guidance from Master P. The guys give their opinions on whether he can make see his dream through. Master P was also a hot topic this week after releasing the first 2 episodes of The ‘No Limit’ Docu-series on BET so The Flats highlight the key moments from the first two installments. Dr. Dre may be the new spokesman for men seeking divorce as he revealed a surprise prenup on his soon to be ex-wife following her initial suit. Topics of ‘Who comes first? Your Wife or your Mother’ are delved into with some advice for the mamas boys as well. Lil Bibby made a statement that “If she stays while cheating, she’s cheating as well” so the fellas discuss whether they agree or not. Bow Wow also decided to throw his name in the mix for a Verzuz battle, and the guys properly put some respect on Shad Moss’ catalog. Unfortunately there hasn’t been a shortage of tragedy, so the crew sends their deepest condolences to the families of Black Woman Gloria Bamboo and Allie Garrett Foster. Lastly, the crew discuss their disappointment from the latest installment of Nick Cannon’s ‘Cannon Class’ where he backtracked his initial comments in regards to the true History Of Jewish people and likening the struggle to slavery.
