  • What Terror Threats Will The U.S. Face Following Afghan Withdrawal?
The evacuations of U.S. citizens and Afghanistan allies continue in the region as the August 31 deadline looms. Secretary of State Antony Blinken said Wednesday that he believes less than 1,000 American citizens are still in Afghanistan trying to leave the country and that 82,300 people have been flown out of Kabul since August 14. But as the deadline for U.S. troops to leave Afghanistan approaches, what does the future hold when it comes to America's national security and keeping an eye on terrorism? This as the Taliban secures control of Afghanistan amid reports that the nation is becoming a safe haven for terrorist groups. Fox News Contributor and former CIA Station Chief Daniel Hoffman joins to weigh in on what will happen to those who don't make it out of Afghanistan by the deadline and if the "over-the-horizon" counterterrorism capability the Biden administration keeps pushing is enough to keep terrorists at bay.

The U.S. Supreme Court has reinstated the 'Remain in Mexico' policy set by the Trump administration, ruling that asylum seekers must wait in Mexico while authorities review their claims. While President Biden attempted to cancel this Trump-era policy, the High Court ruled 6-3 refusing to block a lower court ruling that ordered the Migrant Protection Protocols program to be reinstated. Fox News National Correspondent Bill Melugin joins to explain how this decision may impact the migrant surge at the U.S.-Mexico border. Bill breaks down what exactly the reinstating of the 'Remain in Mexico' policy means for border security, the plight of border patrol agents who feel overwhelmed by the surge in illegal border crossings, and how the Biden administration must revive the MPP policy thought they plan to cancel it in the future.

  • U.S. Troops Prepare for August 31st Withdrawal from Afghanistan
Following his meeting with G7 leaders on the crisis in Afghanistan, President Biden said on Tuesday that America is on pace to complete its mission in Afghanistan by the August 31 deadline, but he says that depends on the Taliban's cooperation. This as American citizens and Afghan allies who have assisted the U.S. during America's 20-year war try to evacuate the region that is now under the Taliban's control. Inflation has become a major concern for many Americans and as people search for ways to save money, an increasing number of consumers are buying their groceries and daily necessities from discount stores. Consumer prices continued to rise last month and the pandemic continues to favor the strength of the country's largest retailers while local grocery stores are less equipped to handle the supply chain disruptions, climbing costs and shortage in labor. Fox Business Correspondent Jeff Flock joins to discuss how inflation has driven the sales spike at U.S. "dollar stores," why local groceries are struggling to compete and he explains how inflation is hurting the wallets of even the poorest Americans.

  • Will Afghanistan Chaos Overshadow President Biden's Domestic Agenda?
The Biden administration continues to face criticism from both sides of the aisle following the decision to quickly withdraw U.S. troops from Afghanistan. The move left both U.S. citizens and Afghan allies behind and are they are now struggling to flee the region that is currently under the Taliban's control. While the chaos in Afghanistan continues, back home the House made an early return to Washington D.C from their August recess on Monday ready to vote on infrastructure. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D- CA) hopes to pass both the bipartisan $1-trillion infrastructure bill passed by the Senate and the Democrats' $3.5-trillion budget resolution bill, but the vote could be met with obstacles within the Democratic Party. Pennsylvania Congressman Brian Fitzpatrick, co-chair of the Problem Solvers Caucus weighs in on if he thinks the President's botched Afghanistan withdrawal will impact his domestic agenda including infrastructure and if he thinks Speaker Pelosi has the votes to pass both infrastructure bills this week.

On Monday, the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine was granted full FDA approval for people 16 years or older, making this the first COVID vaccine to receive full authorization. With this announcement, President Biden addressed Americans, saying if you are a citizen waiting for full FDA approval of the vaccine "the moment you have been waiting for is here and it's time to go get your vaccination." Former U.S. Surgeon General during the Trump administration, Dr. Jerome Adams, joins to break down how the FDA's approval changes things for the country. Dr. Adams explains why this announcement should raise the confidence of Americans hesitant about the safety of the vaccines, how breakthrough cases still show the efficacy of the vaccine's ability to preserve lives, and how the Delta variant has changed how the U.S. is handling the pandemic.

  • FOX News Rundown EXTRA: Should The U.S. Troops Have Stayed in Afghanistan?
After almost two decades, America's longest war is concluding with the Taliban retaking Afghanistan this week. The Biden administration has been met with huge backlash from both sides about the botched withdrawal, but the President has stood firm on his decision despite many people in America and across the world being left in shock at what many say is the U.S. abandoning the Afghan people and U.S. citizens that are still left in the country, trying to flee from the Taliban.
Earlier this week, host Jessica Rosenthal spoke with former U.S. Ambassador to Afghanistan Hugo Llorens about how a troop withdrawal from the country turned into an evacuation effort to get Americans and our allies out of Afghanistan.
The conversation was too long and we could not include the whole interview with Ambassador Llorens. On today's FOX News Rundown EXTRA you will hear Ambassador Llorens explain his time as Ambassador to Afghanistan working under Presidents Obama and Trump. • Fox News Rundown EXTRA: Taliban Takeover Of Afghanistan Spells Danger For Americans Stuck There
The Taliban have taken control of Afghanistan, leaving thousands of Americans and allies unsure about if and how they will make it to the United States safely.
Many on both sides of the political aisles have criticized President Biden's withdrawal as mismanaged and poorly executed, as the U.S. now tries to evacuate people from Afghanistan as the Taliban restarts its violent regime tactics.
Earlier this week, host Dave Anthony spoke to Matt Zeller, a former CIA analyst, Afghanistan War veteran, to discuss the lethal threat the Taliban now poses to the people of Afghanistan with militants in charge, America's need to focus on quickly airlifting all U.S. personnel and allies out of harm's way, and how he plans to hold President Biden accountable for the lack of foresight that led to an international disaster.
The conversation was too long and we could not include everything Matt Zeller had to say about chaos unfolding in Afghanistan. On the FOX News Rundown Extra, you will hear all of his emotional reactions to the failure to safely withdraw from Afghanistan, how the U.S. should have organized the troop pullout, and his personal connection to the situation through his nonprofit, No One Left Behind.
