  • What America Risks As It Leaves Afghanistan
As the U.S. withdraws troops from Afghanistan, the Taliban has waged a insurgent campaign to defeat the Afghan government forces and take control of the region. Just one month ago defending this position, President Biden committed to staying out of the conflict, saying the U.S. had done enough to empower the Afghan military; however on Monday August 9th, Taliban militants captured their sixth provincial Afghan capital. The Taliban has scored multiple military victories in a short time and Afghan citizens have begun fleeing from their homes in what they expect to be an eventual Taliban takeover of their country. Rep. Mike Waltz (R-FL) an Afghanistan War veteran, joins to discuss why he believes President Biden is leaving the U.S. vulnerable by withdrawing troops from Afghanistan, what was accomplished in Afghanistan after 20 years of war, how Russia and China may take advantage of hostility in the region and why Taliban control creates a threat of terrorism in the West.

There's been an uptick of unruly passengers disrupting airline flights across the U.S. forcing flight attendants to deal with both physical and verbal abuse. The Federal Aviation Administration says airlines have reported thousands of incidents this year, with three-quarters of them involving passengers who refuse to comply with the federal mask mandate. President of the Association of Flight Attendants, Sara Nelson discusses what else is contributing to these escalating incidents and why she and the FAA think the Department of Justice needs to get involved.

  • Confusion Grows Over Covid Boosters, Mandates and Breakthrough Cases
The Delta variant continues to spread across the country just as Americans were preparing to return to normalcy after the wide availability of coronavirus vaccines. Those in the U.S. returning to the workplace or sending their children back to school in the fall are given pause now by the highly infectious variant of COVID-19 that is bringing with it a surge in cases and hospitalizations. Physician and Dean of Public Health at Brown University, Dr. Ashish Jha joins to explain why COVID-19 booster shots may become an important tool for protecting the most compromised Americans, how the improvement of international vaccination efforts will lead to fewer variants, whether requiring masks in schools will be necessary and the importance of medical professionals addressing the concerns of those who are vaccine hesitant.

We’ve been hearing more and more about breakthrough infections lately especially with the new Delta variant. People who are fully vaccinated against COVID-19 are still getting the virus. While the vaccine is not 100% effective, people who have been diagnosed with the coronavirus even if they are fully vaccinated have been experiencing mild cases, but the vast majority of them have not been hospitalized or died. Host of the “Guy Benson Show” on FOX News Talk, Guy Benson was one of those breakthrough cases. He joins to discuss his symptoms, what made him believe he might have been infected despite being fully vaccinated and what he’s learned from the experience.

  • FOX News Rundown Extra: The GOP Case On How The COVID Outbreak Started

Earlier this weke on the FOX News Rundown, host Dave Anthony spoke to ranking member of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, Rep. Michael McCaul (R-TX) about the findings of his report, why he is demanding sanctions against Wuhan Lab scientists and how China's lack of transparency allowed the coronavirus to spread internationally.

The interview was too long and we could not include it all in our original segment. On The FOX News Rundown Extra, you can hear our entire conversation with Rep. McCaul which includes his criticisms of National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases director Dr. Anthony Fauci.

Earlier this week the CDC extended the federal eviction moratorium to October 3, 2021 for counties experiencing high levels of COVID-19 transmission, after the original ban expired last month. The White House previously said President Biden did not have the authority to extend the ban, after a Supreme Court ruling said only Congress could do it and Congressional Democrats did not have enough votes to extend it. President Biden urged states to use the $46.5 billion in federal rental relief to avoid evictions, but it has been a slow process.
