  • FOX News Rundown Extra: Dana Perino on President Biden's Media Strategy ... And How To Be Successful in Life
President Biden has spent the past several weeks pushing his message and trying to convince the American people our country needs his $2 trillion infrastructure plan.
Earlier this week, FOX News Rundown host Jessica Rosenthal spoke to Dana Perino, co-anchor of America's Newsroom and co-host of The Five on the FOX News Channel, about the White House's messaging and their media strategy.
Perino, who was the former White Press Secretary for George W. Bush, explained why the administration's "discipline" has been helpful so far, but warned the economy and other growing concerns could chip away at both the President's approval rating and the popularity of his costly agenda items.
Dana also talks about her new book and podcast series 'Everything Will Be Okay,' where she offers advice to young women and shares many of her unique personal experiences from her incredible career.
The conversation was too long and we could not include all of it our original segment. On The FOX NEWS Rundown Extra, you will hear our entire interview with FOX News' Dana Perino and get even more of her political analysis and insights on life.

  • Will There Be A Commission On January 6th?
    This Week:
This week, the House of Representatives narrowly voted to create a bipartisan commission to investigate the insurrection at the Capitol on January 6th. That resolution faces fierce opposition in a narrowly divided Senate, with Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell saying he does not support the plan. Fox News Congressional Correspondent, Chad Pergram, discusses what's likely to happen in the Senate, and how lawmakers have drawn on the 9/11 and Benghazi commissions as they've considered this proposal.
After 11 days of violence that left hundreds dead, Israel and Hamas agreed to a ceasefire on Thursday. President Biden praised the ceasefire during a white House speech this week, but the President's measured strategy on the conflict drew criticism from both parties. Democrats accusing him of not being tough in Israel and Republicans saying he didn't do enough to support Israel. FOX News Washington Correspondent Rachel Sutherland speaks with FOX News Mideast Correspondent Trey Yingst who covered the conflict.
When it comes to mask wearing, there's a mixed bag of rules depending which state you're in, despite the CDC's latest guidance that says, if you are fully vaccinated you do not have to wear a mask outdoors or inside in most cases. The latest in a string of recommendations catching businesses and state and local governments off guard. Rachel Sutherland speaks with former CDC director Dr. Tom Frieden on the mask confusion.
New divisions have reared their ugly heads in Washington, D.C. and this time, they aren't just between Democrats and Republicans. As lawmakers consider creating a commission on the events of January 6th, in-party divisions have appeared, with 35 House Republicans siding with House Democrats. Meanwhile, Democrats are seeing divisions of their own over what has unfolded between Israel & Hamas in recent weeks. Chris Wallace, Anchor of Fox News Sunday, joins Jared to discuss all of the tensions in the nation's capital and abroad this week.

  • As America Reopens, It Remains Divided On Masks, Israel And More
After the CDC released its latest mask guidelines, it didn't take long for even some of the most cautionary states to loosen their COVID-related restrictions and mandates. FOX News Anchor Bill Hemmer has been covering the coronavirus crisis since the beginning from New York City, and like the rest of the country, he sees the city once considered the epicenter of the pandemic change dramatically. Hemmer joins the Rundown to discuss why he thinks America has finally turned the corner when it comes to the virus, when we may be truly back to normal and weighs in on the dispute over the House chamber's Mask mandate.
Since the 2020 election, we have seen a shift in both Republican and Democratic parties. Republicans accuse Democrats and President Biden of caving to the progressive wing of their party refusing to work across the aisle. Meanwhile Republicans have their own in-house fighting and leadership change as they try to unify and become more a pro-Trump party. FOX News contributor Kristen Soltis Anderson and co-host of The Five and Democratic strategist Juan Williams weigh in on what's going on with both parties and if it will have any impact on the 2022 Midterms.

  • Republicans and Democrats Divided On How To Fix The Economy
President Biden continues to pitch The American Jobs Plan to the nation as Senate Republicans have prepared a counter proposal to the President’s two trillion dollar economic and infrastructure legislation. Senator Shelly Moore Capito (R-W.V.) joins to explain how she and her fellow Senate Republicans are negotiating with President Biden to strike a bipartisan deal on American infrastructure, how West Virginia’s political ideology has shifted over the years, her stance on the conflict in  Israel and the recent push for an independent commission to investigate the January 6th attack on the Capitol.
As the White House works on that infrastructure bill,  a group of Democrat lawmakers are urging the President to back a fourth stimulus. This comes at a time when Republicans are complaining that past relief checks, pandemic-era unemployment programs and a monthly child tax credit are already encouraging more Americans to not work. As America continues to reopen, is there even still a need for yet another stimulus bill? And can we afford it? Bankrate Senior Economic Analyst Mark Hamrick discusses whether we need more stimulus, how effective our past pandemic relief programs were and what his biggest concern about the economy is as the summer nears.

  • Did Politics Play A Role In Latest CDC Mask Guidance?
The debate over masks continues to both divide and confuse Americans. Besides seemingly making the national patchwork of rules and mandates even harder to manage, the CDC's latest mask guidelines also came out just as the agency was under fire from both sides for being too cautious. Republicans even accused the agency and the Biden Administration of playing politics with the mask issue. Dr. Jerome Adams, the former U.S. Surgeon General under President Trump, discusses whether politics played a role in the CDC's latest mask guidelines, why he thinks the Biden White House "fumbled the ball at the one yard line," and what the federal government needs to do now to address vaccine hesitancy.
The Colonial Pipeline is up and running again after it was forced to shut down last week following a cybersecurity attack by the DarkSide ransomware gang. The shutdown led to widespread gasoline shortages and an increase of prices across the East coast. The latest hack of the major fuel pipeline is bringing up the energy debate in the U.S. and what the future of the oil and gas industry will look like. Since taking office in January, President Biden ended the Keystone XL Pipeline via executive order and reentered the U.S. into the 2016 Paris climate agreement, pledging to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Senator James Lankford (R-OK) joins today's Rundown to discuss what the latest pipeline hack has taught us, why he thinks people need to be realistic when it comes to protecting the environment and having clean air and water in the U.S. Plus, he weighs in on whether the government should have a role in investing in green jobs.
