  • Mulvaney on Ukraine Phone Call: “Get Over It”
    This week:
    Acting White House chief of staff Mick Mulvaney held a press briefing this week where he contradicted President Trump’s claim that there was no “quid pro quo” during his phone call with Ukraine’s leader back in July. Mulvaney later walked back his statement saying there was no “quid pro quo” and blaming the news media for misconstruing the comments. Jared and FOX’s Capitol Hill Producer Chad Pergram discussed.
    On Thursday, Turkey agreed to halt attacks in northern Syria for five days with the Kurds following negotiations between Vice President Mike Pence and Turkey’s president. Clashes continued on the border between Turkey and Syria on Friday. FOX’s Washington Correspondent Rachel Sutherland spoke to FOX’s foreign correspondent Trey Yingst who was in Turkey for this week's negotiations in Ankara.
    Earlier this week Jared was in Westerville, Ohio for the fourth Democratic presidential debate. This was the first time in history twelve candidates were on the stage, including a new face. Jared recaps this week’s debate with FOX News Political Reporter Paul Steinhauser and then sits down with 2020 presidential candidate, billionaire Tom Steyer to discuss how he thought his first debate in Ohio went and why he decided to run for president.

    This week:
    This week, House Democrats have accelerated the impeachment inquiry into President Trump following the White House’s comment that they will not cooperate with the House impeachment. Jared and FOX’s Senior Capitol Hill producer Chad Pergram discuss what to expect when Congress returns from recess.
    The Pentagon was taken by surprise this week after President Trump announced his decision to withdraw U.S. troops from Syria, paving the way for Turkey to go after Kurdish fighters in the region who helped the U.S battle ISIS. The decision was met with bipartisan backlash, including some of the president’s biggest defenders. FOX’s Washington Correspondent Rachel Sutherland discusses the decision with FOX’s Pentagon correspondent Lucas Tomlinson.
    A tweet by the Houston Rockets general manager Daryl Morey supporting protesters in Hong Kong has caused a widespread dispute and has compromised the NBA’s strong business relationship with China. FOX’s Washington Correspondent Rachel Sutherland spoke with Stanley Chao author of “Selling to China” on why this tweet has caused so much controversy. 
    Next week, the fourth-round presidential primary debate, will be held in Westerville, Ohio. Twelve candidates have qualified, meeting the polling and fundraising criteria, the largest in presidential primary history. The reason for Speaker Pelosi’s decision stems from a phone call over the summer with Ukraine’s president Volodymyr Zelensky. The conversation led to a whistleblower complaint that accused President Trump of pressuring the Ukrainian president to investigate former Vice President Joe Biden and his son Hunter over business dealings in the country.
    President Trump on Wednesday, allowed the release of a five-page summary of his phone call with Ukraine’s leader. On Thursday, Acting Intelligence Chief Joseph Maguire testified on Capitol Hill before the House Intelligence Committee, defending his handling of the whistleblower complaint.

Lewandowski testified before the House Judiciary Committee in its first impeachment probe hearing on his contact with the president in regards to the Russia investigation.     President Trump announced that Robert C. O’Brien will be his new national security adviser. O’Brien who served as the president’s special envoy for hostage affairs will be the president’s fourth national security adviser replacing John Bolton who left the White House abruptly last week.  FOX’s D.C. Correspondent Rachel Sutherland spoke with FOX’s White House Correspondent Jon Decker about the new national security adviser.
    It’s still unclear who the new prime minister of Israel is. Longtime Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is facing an uphill battle to hold on to his job to rival Benny Gantz. Netanyahu, who is facing charges of corruption and bribery, could face jail time if he is not elected prime minister and able to pass an immunity law. Jared spoke with on Israel's former Ambassador to the United Nations Ron Prosor how this election can impact the USA relationship with Israel.
    While the Democratic presidential field remains large it seems like it is becoming a three-person race between former Vice President Joe Biden who is leading in the polls. Followed by Senator Elizabeth Warren and Senator Bernie Sanders. Jared discusses the latest polls with FOX News pollster Daron Shaw.

    Round three of the 2020 Democratic primary debate was held on Thursday in Houston, Texas. It was the first time all the leading Democratic candidates were on the same stage together. During the debate, the candidates tangled over critical issues including healthcare, gun legislation, climate change and criminal justice. FOX News Radio’s National Correspondent Tonya J. Powers and FOX News Radio’s Political Analyst Josh Kraushaar discuss the big takeaways.
    Earlier this week, President Trump announced via Twitter that he fired his National Security Advisor John Bolton. The president saying Bolton “made some very big mistakes” while taking questions from the media earlier this week. Bolton disputes this characterization, saying he resigned. FOX’s White House Correspondent Jon Decker discussed Bolton’s departure and why he’s not surprised about Bolton’s exit.
    Eighteen years ago on September 11, 2001 the U.S. suffered the worst terrorist attack in its modern history. Osama bin Laden who was the leader of the terrorist organization al-Qaida the group responsible for 9/11, was known as the face of terrorism. Now, 18 years later a lot has changed. FOX News Radio’s D.C. Correspondent Rachel Sutherland spoke to FOX News National Security & Foreign Policy Expert Walid Phares on how terrorism has evolved following Osama bin Laden.
