My business bestie Kelsey is a solo esthi located in Tampa, FL. She recently closed her 1,400 soft. studio while I’m right behind her, currently in the process of closing down my 1,100 soft salon and shifting back to being a solo artist in a salon suite.
In this episode - special guest Kelsey Speros (follow her on Instagram CLICK HERE ) and I share our experience with salon ownership and employees & our decision to close and pivot back to solo. We share our truth - the good, the bad & the ugly of salon ownership & hiring a team. The not so amazing side of things that nobody talks about.
Talking Points:
-Our reasons for wanting to initially open a large salon/hire employees
-Pros & Cons of salon ownership/employees
-Tips for anyone wanting to expand & hire
-The point/reason we decided to close down & pivot back to being solo
-Aspects of being solo that we are looking forward to

In this episode I share a little about my journey as an esthetician and business owner - and I speak on my recent decision to go from salon owner back to solo! Surprise... the news is out lol - in a few short weeks I'll be closing my 1,100 sqft salon storefront and going back to solo... all because I want a more simple life. I realized that salon ownership isn't for me and so I've decided to pivot and go back to working alone - and I am SO excited for this change.
We also talk about pricing - don't skip this part because the girls come for me and my low facial prices LOL.
We also talk about a trending topic in the skin world - an esthetician trademarked a popular name/phrase and it's caused some fuss. Listen to our thoughts - coming from women who prioritize community and women empowerment in the industry.
Special thank you to Maria + the girls for having me on their show. I hope we can record more episodes together in the future! :)

In this episode I share some tips about bookkeeping and accounting for beautypreneurs! Although I am NOT a CPA or accountant, I do know a thing or two about basic bookkeeping. If you are a small business owner or solo-artist you may be able to handle this business aspect yourself with the help of a CPA.
