In today's competitive environment, getting attention for your brand requires a powerful visual impact. But often, getting the right imagery for products is tricky. This is where 3D design is a big advantage. Being able to render your products from any angle and placing it in any environment allows for quick but on-brand image production.

In this episode, we are joined by George Berthoud, a 3D designer and founder of Two Bear Studio, to find out more about his freelance journey.

George accidentally fell into freelancing after years of experimenting with 3D design. His first project involved recreating over 100 different products for a perfume company based in London and Bali.

Later on, his renderings were featured in magazines such as Vogue. He now primarily acquires clients through word-of-mouth referrals, networking events, cold outreach, and partnerships with agencies.

Kai helps people heal their inner child and recently published his first book: "Emotionally Immature Parents: A Recovery Workbook for Adult Children"

I’ve been following Kai for a while on social media and one day, I was travelling in Barcelona and saw on his stories that he was there too, I messaged him and asked if he’d be up to grab a coffee. He said yes, and now a few months later, we’re both in Chiang Mai and regularly work from coffeeshops together.

Kai is doing a great job helping people heal their inner child, but he’s also doing a great job with his business.

In this episode he is talking about how he managed to create a life that he truly enjoys by saying no to his career as a doctor - a path he didn’t choose for himself.

We also cover that having a business isn't just about having a great product, but learning about marketing and sales and so much more.

Emilia Tanase is a freelance copywriter, focusing on email marketing and story telling. She started copywriting in high school to get some extra pocket money and help her parents financially.

Thanks to her marketing efforts and networking skills, Emi has been able to stop cold outreaching to new clients and now receives warm leads through her email list - and she talks about how she managed to do this in this episode.

One thing I was eager to learn from Emilia was how she broke into the English-speaking copywriting scene even though she’s not a native speaker.

After being laid off from a job which paid him £$1,000/day, Rob O'Rourke started to freelance and offer websites for $150.

Livi and I know each other from quite a few years ago. She's my best friend's sister's best friend 🙈 and started freelancing this year.

We've recorded this session back in May while I was travelling in Barcelona. And as you'll notice very early into the podcast, it's one of the early recordings where I had no idea about sound. But we all have to begin somewhere.

Just like Livi did at the time of our recording.

About 10 years ago, Livi moved from Austria to Barcelona and has just booked her first freelance gig a week before our conversation.

This is probably the worst sound quality because we started recording outside (rookie mistake, I know) but it'll give you some nice background noise of people coming home on an afternoon in Barcelona. Or we can pretend the sound quality is ASMR 🤫

But as much as the sound isn't the best, the experience Livi describes as a new freelancer is very valuable.

I'm certain, many people will feel the same at the beginning of their freelance career.
