In this the . . . Is there a word that's like "penultimate" but like it means the third from last thing instead of the second?  This is that.  Act one of Natalie's cool story (it's a working title) and our very first night at the opera draw toward the end of all things as the simmering pot comes to a rolling boil and the freeloaders, armed with their knowledge and moral courage and surety of purpose but even more armed with a bunch of World War 2 era foreign guns left over from the OSS, seek to take a sword to the mystery's Gordian knot.  They know where they need to go and what they need to do, but their reckless delving into the depths will bring them face to face with otherworldly horrors beyond their comprehension.  Do they have what it takes to stave off the darkness for another day?  I guess we'll find out together.  Also, Caliban has a cool book now.

Chris was out of town this week, so instead of moving the story forward without him, we ran a oneshot.  

An intrepid band of heroes venture into the frozen north, answering the call of adventure.  Amidst the frozen seas at the top of the world, the king of a mighty and once-proud hall is haunted and bedeviled by a devilish beast from another world, a man-eating horror that, somehow, no-one is able to see . . .

In an episode where you could've saved them, Mr. Police, I gave you all the clues, the freeloaders (sans a wizard) return to continue their investigation into the mysteries of the town of Perdition, Mississippi.  Things get downright spooky as we spend entirely too long talking about nonsense instead of playing the game, plumb the depths of an exploded Nazi, go on a boat trip, find further hints of something unspeakable, and learn an important lesson about the ways that hurting others will also hurt us.  Also, Natalie performs verbal gymnastics to find ways to say "It looks and feels like semen" without using the word semen.

In this our second episode, our Delta Green investigation continues with the freeloaders stumbling into a spooktacular web of conspiracy as they cunningly avoid the plot and rack up an impressive list of felonies, everything from accidentally a house down to Minecraft a federal agent to breaking into the public library.  Old Man Henderson smiles down from Heaven as the webs of darkness slowly but inevitably close in around us, so come on and slam, and welcome to the jam.

In this inaugural episode of the crunchiest podcast recorded in the past decade, the freeloaders are playing the super fun Lovecraftian horror game and fed simulator Delta Green.  A ragtag team of agents are sent to a spooky town to investigate a series of disappearances that may be otherworldly in nature.  Along the way, they find tantalizing hints of conspiracy, burn the locals, threaten to frame an innocent woman for murder, and desecrate a stinky church.
