THE FREEWILL PODCAST — SEASON 2.0, EPISODE 2
White Supremacy & Systemic Racism | Reality vs. Illusions: What’s Actually Real
Welcome back, Revolutionaries. 🦉
In Episode 2 of Season 2.0, Visionary takes a deeper look at white supremacy — its origins, its intentions, and the generational effects it has had on Black culture, communities, and consciousness.
But this conversation isn’t just about looking backward.
Our Word of the Day is PROPAGANDA, as we examine the role of national news and social media in shaping narratives, provoking emotional reactions, and influencing how communities understand conflict — including the racial tensions we see playing out today.
So what do we do with the anger?
We transmute it.
Instead of allowing emotional manipulation to dictate our reactions, how can we turn that energy into healing, awareness, strategy, and the collective work required to build a real solution?
🕰️ BLAST FROM THE PAST
We travel back to the Black Panther Party and the press war surrounding the movement — examining how media narratives contributed to the criminalization of Black revolutionaries and the violence that followed, while also looking at how the Panthers fought back against those narratives.
Then we go even further back to the Red Summer of 1919, bringing Ida B. Wells into the conversation and examining her work documenting racial violence and advocating for justice for Black survivors and communities.
Because history has a way of repeating itself when we refuse to study it.
🎵 SONG OF THE DAY
“Nobody” — Nas ft. Lauryn Hill
We highlight Lauryn Hill’s verse and the perspective she brings to a song centered around struggle, survival, power, and the realities of navigating a system that was never designed with our liberation in mind.
📖 QUOTES FROM THE GREATS
We connect the episode’s conversations through the words and ideas of Malcolm X and Frances Cress Welsing, using their work to challenge the way we understand racism, power, psychological conditioning, and the systems surrounding us.
This episode asks us to look beyond the immediate reaction and recognize the bigger picture:
What is being shown to us?
What is being hidden from us?
Who benefits from our emotional reaction?
And what could we build if we learned to turn that energy into strategy?
Because knowing the history is only the beginning.
Knowledge is POWER. Applied knowledge is FREEDOM.

THE FREEWILL PODCAST - SEASON 2.0 PREMIERE
Reform vs. Revolution: What Can Be Changed & What Must Be Rebuilt ?
Welcome Back Revolutionaries!
Season 2.0 begins with one question ? Is everything worth reforming ?
In this premiere, Visionary breaks down the difference between reform and revolution and examines the systems we're often told simply need to be "fixed"- from education to policing institutions that shape our everyday lives.
Some systems may have pieces worth preserving. Others may require us to completely rethink what they are supposed to do, who they are supposed to serve, and what freedom would actually look like without them.
This season, we're going beyond identifying the problem. We're asking the harder questions:
What do we build instead?

We’ve been tricked into thinking survival means “winning” at capitalism. But the truth is — survival is in the village.
This episode, I’m breaking down:
⚡ How capitalism was designed to keep us struggling
⚡ Why fear of rebuilding is still haunting us from Tulsa to Rosewood
⚡ Real history of Black self-reliance: Maroons, Underground schools, the Great Migration
⚡ Practical ways to build quiet resistance today — through food, clothes, teaching, and resource sharing
It’s not about making a big fuss. It’s about making grand moves. Above water, but under the radar.

✨ Rebel Talk – Episode 2: Performative ✨
Welcome back, Revolutionaries! In this episode of Rebel Talk, we’re breaking down the word “Performative”—what it really means, how it shows up in celebrity culture, society, friendships, and even parenting.
From the false sense of ownership in our everyday lives, to the way celebrities and even friends can put on a show without genuine care—we’re pulling back the curtain on performative energy.
We’ll also take it back in time with Blast from the Past, exploring how performers like Billy Kersands and Florence Hines shaped a legacy of performance that catered to white audiences at the expense of our culture, contrasted with the authentic brilliance of Langston Hughes and Zora Neale Hurston.
And of course, we’ll close with our Song of the Day and Quotes from the Greats—powerful reminders to live in authenticity, not performance.
🔥 Word of the Day: Performative
🌍 World News: The illusion of ownership in America
📖 Story Time: My ex-bestie, performative friendships & motherhood
⏳ Blast from the Past: Performers who sold stereotypes vs. authentic Black art
🎶 Song of the Day: Say It Loud – I’m Black and I’m Proud by James Brown
🖤 Quotes from the Greats: Audre Lorde & James Baldwin
