Scratching my head
I just finished "TFW" and have made a note on my iPhone to re-read it. Soon! I've read the reviews and still am thumbing back through it. Don't get me wrong. I loved the book! But it left me scratching my head. Everyone, but this seasoned reader, seems to know how the author finished the story. I love the suspense genre and racing to the moment everything comes together. Think Sandra Brown, Harlan Coben, James Patterson. I know I've missed some clues? After time passes, I will re-read your book with an open mind and hope to, on some page, have an "aha" moment! I look forward to it. Readers, you are encouraged to challenge yourself but look for clues!
Surprising and unexpected
I read this because I loved this author's post-apocalyptic series, Graham's Resolution. Though my taste is expansive, it took a while to find out if there was a mystery or a crime in this "mystery-crime" story. I almost put it down a few times not having much interest in what interested the main character. The exploration of the main characters grief process was excellent. Two of the characters were initially so annoying that I almost put the book down completely. However, I am glad I persisted. It ended up being a worthwhile book and I do respect the author for delivering the story in an unusual non-formula way. I will continue to read what this author writes.

A Great read!
Great read. AR Shaw is a master at getting the reader to connect with her characters. I have read all of her books to date and it's no surprise I enjoyed this one as well. Buy it, read it, you will be hooked on her writing style and surely be getting the rest of her work!
