What's the "least manliest thing you've ever done?"
We compared the TV viewing experience for the NHL, NBA, MLB, and Golf.
The release of the B1G Football Schedule as a conference only schedule was directed as was the PAC 12 and B1G athletes requests (demands) for forms of profit sharing and uniform COVID protocols.
A "Would You Rather" regarding body parts.
A "When In Rome" that "cuts" close to home.
A "Did You Know" about uniforms.
We are back operating at full-staff capacity and all in person from the garage!!! This week's show talks about the Miami Marlins COVID outbreak, the Dodgers and Astros bad blood, WIAC fall sports, and NFL training camp. Brad has an interesting "Would You Rather" with a painful question.
Brian has a "When in Rome" regarding the WIAC Division III athletic conference.
Justin has a "Did you Know" about teams not having a home stadium to play in.
After being off last week, we were down a man tonight and felt extremely guilty about proceeding without him so we recorded an abbreviated show. Some quick topics discussed were "The Washington Football Team", MLB's expanded play-offs and homeless Blue Jays, and the WIAA's plan for HS sports in the fall. Even though the show was shortened there was an expanded "Would you Rather", we also had a "When in Rome" and a trivia question. Let us know what you think of this shortened show!
This week we took a look at 3 current topics to discuss:
1. Potential name changes of teams in the NFL and MLB
2. Various "bubble" situations in professional sports
3. The Ivy League's announcement on fall sports and how that may impact the rest of college athletics
We also had a "when in Rome" question from Brian and another "would you rather" from Brad.
We're all familiar with the intricacies of North American sports and probably consider those to be "main stream". When we come across something from another part of the world, we may think of it as an "obscure sport". We took a look at 3 sports that may not necessarily be "obscure" but that are unfamiliar to us none the less. And then we were joined by a special guest who introduced a yard game he "allegedly" invented!
Justin talks about Kabaddi
Brian talks about Calcio Storico
Brad talks about Bo Taoshi
Special Guest Greg Riddell talks about Frups
This week we have a special show for you! Not only did we discuss sports road trips we've been on and also some dream trips we would like to go on...but we also had 2 major firsts for the Freshman Parking Lot! This is the first time we have all been together to record an episode, and it is also the first time we have welcomed a guest onto the show!!!
Movies about sports are debated almost as much as live sports are debated. Each of us picked our top 3 sports movies of all time and also then discussed some that are on our honorable mention lists. The would you rather question at the end had us riding the fence and uncomfortable.
We miss live sports, this week we discuss the return to play plans that have been established for the NBA and NHL as well as the public back and forth between the owners and players that has yet to lead to a plan for MLB. Brad's "would you rather" deals with bullpen catchers and emergency goaltenders.
Should college athletes be paid for their performance? Should they be allowed to profit off of their name, image, or likeness? We dive into these questions this week.
Get ready to "nerd out" on stats this week! To clarify, we talked about stats we don't like this week and delve into the intricacies and history of 3 stats. The stats in question are Wins and Saves in Baseball and Passer Rating in Football.
