Being a friend requires that we become men and women that are sacrificial, it requires that we are outward looking, and we become people who are willing to put ourselves out so that what God has placed in the lives of our friends will come to light. It demands that we are open, constant, careful with our words. It requires that we are deliberate in building and managing relationships. When friends love each another, their love attracts others. Biblical friendship is an open circle that says the more the merrier; please come and join us. Biblical friendship doesn’t allow for cliques. Cliques are a group of inward-looking people who have said that this little group is our little group and no one else is welcome. God first loved us. Love is His idea, and He shows us how to love ourselves and others. We love best as we stay connected to Him.
