  • 27. Do better athletic departments

I'm tired of seeing/hearing student-athletes or should I say athlete-students being lead astray. It's time we start holding these athletic departments semi accountable for not properly preparing athletes for their next steps. It happens more often than we know, but something needs to shake. Hear all about my rant on today's episode! I also speak on Travis Kelce's financial lessons, and NFL week 2!

  • 26. UH to Big 12, yeah you read that right!

On today's episode, I share my perspective on what it is exactly means for the University of Houston to now be a member of the big 12 conference. As exciting as this news is, I know that there are many challenges that will present themselves within the near future with this big move! We also explore the idea that HBCU athletics may have a problem with recruiting for numerous reasons. I asked former athletes if they were recruited by HBCUs and why they did/did not choose to attend HBCUs in which presented some interesting results.

Welcome to the time of the year I re-activate my cable subscription so I can flip channels to witness my favorite teams live, no jet lag. THIS IS NOT A DRILL, COLLEGE FOOTBALL IS BACK! • 23. Return of the Smack

On today's episode, we discuss the amazing performances from this year's Prefontaine Classic of Eugene, Oregon. With the return of Sha'Carri Richardson to the track and field stage after her suspension, the (not-so-much) feud continued between USA vs Jamaica (and social media). Her last place finish has been the talk of the weekend along with the post-race interview from her and other competitors. While track and field athletes try to all get along, tensions rose last week in NFL joint practices. As fights broke out between the Bucs-Titans and Raiders-Rams, the NFL is looking into potential punishments, if any,  for players involved. Is it just a part of the game or is it just a part of the game? Glad to see football is FINALLY back for weekends to come.

Also mentioned in this episode, Little League sensation Mo'ne Davis current whereabouts and the arrest of the Miami Hurricanes's late Brian Pata.

  • 22. Malice at the Palace

*SPOILER ALERT* If you have not watched Malice at the Palace on Netflix, I suggest you do so. On today's episode we discuss what we thought we knew versus what really happened that night at the place when the Detroit Pistons took on the Indiana Pacers. Such an insightful documentary series by Netflix. Also, we discuss the Paralympics and Draymond Green's new series "Chips".

  • 21. Limitations

On today's episode, I share my experience with LIMITATIONS as a former athlete. In today's society, being "more than an athlete" is at an all time high but still has ways to go. My hope is by sharing my experience that it will encourage the next person to not live in a box to satisfy others, but to extend those limits and live outside of the box.

As the Tokyo Olympics close out, I spend time reflecting on the performances of Team USA. From volleyball, gymnastics, basketball, and track & field, it's been a successful one! I hope you all enjoyed the Olympic coverage you did receive and look forward to Paris 2024.

    • Coach Prime vs Deion Sanders: put some respect on his name
    • & MORE!
    • Side note: Josh thinks Space Jam 2: A New Legacy is a 7.5/10.

    • 19. Space Jam, Olympics, Mental Health

Who else had a nostalgic moment this past weekend?! Space Jam: A New Legacy definitely took me ALLLLLL the way back. Hear all about my thoughts in today's episode. While Space Jam was last week's hype, this week it's Olympic time! Finally. The long-awaited Tokyo Olympics Games will kickoff this week with some exciting performances to come. (not in those cardboard beds tho) *hear episode for more details

The WNBA is growing growing okay. Viewership has skyrocketed this season and there are even talks of potential expansion to another major city like Houston. Now that would be lit & the H could use a winning team just saying.

Also in today's episode, we discussed the importance of mental health being a continuing conversation and not just talk, but more action. It is okay to not be okay! Athletes like Naomi Osaka and Liz Cambage have had the courage to shed light on their personal battles with mental health and being okay with taking a step back to protect their mental.  This episode is right on time and full of gems. • 18. You get an ESPYS, You get an ESPYS
I promise this episode will be WAYYY calmer than last week's. Maybe. Spent some time this episode to hand out my own ESPYS to stars like Allyson Felix and Zaila Avant-Garde. More than deserved. After dissecting the ESPYS and the emotional speeches (S/O to Maya Moore and Paige Bueckers), I give the basketball fans my two cents on Team USA Basketball & Stephen A. Smith potential spiral.
