The Freeling family is living in a cookie cutter community in California, when strange happenings begin to occur. Furniture starts moving on it's own, kids magically get shuffled across the room, trees start to attack children, and eventually the children's bedroom closet swallows up the baby of the family, Carol Anne. As Carol Anne goes missing in the house and the happenings in the house grow clearly more sinister, the family decides to reach out to the fine folks in the Conjuring. These para-psychologists soon learn that this entity haunting the Freeling's is beyond their skillset, so they call in the big-little guns. While the family continues to search for Carol Anne, Tangina, the sweet southern medium wrecking ball, ready to dance with a Poltergeist. The family along with Tangina come up with a plan to pull Carol Anne free from the other side with the power of a mother's love. The family saves Carol Anne, Tangina declares this house is clean, and then we learn….its totally not. The evil entity cast out one last paranormal attack on the family to get the life force of Carol Anne. The Freeling's escape and learn the construction company that designed this neighborhood moved a cemetery before building, only they moved the graves, but they didn't move the bodies. Why?! WHY?! The family escapes and stays at an old school Holiday Inn.

We begin in the chilled landscape of Antarctica where a man is shooting at a dog from a helicopter, as the dog is soon moving into an American research base. The men on the American base do what any freedom loving American would do in this situation…they take the dog's side. Once the deranged gunman is eliminated, the Americans welcome the dog to the team and peacefully go back to work like nothing weird just happened. Soon enough, big friendly dog turn into big slimey monster! Luckily, Mac had the flamethrower at the ready. Soon we realize that…there…was a reason they were shooting at the dog. Shocked? Me too. Anyways Wilford Brimley, Mr. Dia Beetus himself, discovers that the dog is actually this thing that turns into living creatures and mimicks them to take over and spread like a virus thing. He has a total meltdown after his 1982 super computer with some pretty advanced software determines this thing would take over the world in no time if it reaches the mainland. He starts destroying stuff, and one by one each member of the crew starts morphing into monsters and McReady turns into Poiroit with a flamethrower. Once The Thing has morphed everyone into a super monster, Mac burns the whole base down and he and Childs are left…are they themselves or are they….The Thing? Join us as we break down what makes this John Carpenter cult classic so amazing.

We conclude this year's MonsterCast with one of the most unique thrillers to ever come out of Hollywood. 1955's "The Night of the Hunter" remains as frightening and dream-like as it was upon release. Brandon & Eric welcome back Jay Hoffman to discuss Charles Laughton's only outing as director. The hosts praise the sinister performance of Robert Mitchum as Reverend Harry Powell. They also highlight the wonderful contributions of Lillian Gish and Shelley Winters. The central themes of good vs evil, men & women and religion are also touched upon in the episode.
For this Halloween the Super GG Radio team played through the Resident Evil remaster. Released in 2002 on the Nintendo Gamecube, the re-release of the original classic is a mix of old game controls and more modern-day visuals that is a good entry point into this seminal horror series.
