There are many skeptics in the world, with regards to spiritual phenomena.  True spirituality has never had to do with anything other than the pursuit, understanding, observation and experience of actual reality.  Emerging from skepticism, when honestly pursuing truth, is essentially awakening to reality.  Fear and inaccurate assumptions are often significant impediments.  So how can we view skepticism and the awakening process in a productive way?  The movie "Contact" provides some important lessons that are very approachable to understand.  This is not just an intellectual exercise - it is vital to humanity's future.

Feeling and truly knowing a connection to the Divine is incredibly important - to our growth, to our healing and to every situation we face in our lives and the world.  Through Spiritual connection, we discover we are connected to one another as well.  The Divine is Omnipresent, everywhere, and in each and every one of us.  Instead, far too often, materialistic paths are valued over the spiritual in our world, and though the connection still necessarily exists, even when we deny or try to mute it, our increasing emphasis on the material at all costs is never going to be a productive path forward.  The material path is an illusion.  How do we find our way?

The world is approaching a critical point, with many things going on at once that are important to our growth and survival. Last week's program on The Frontier Beyond Fear, for example, talked about an upcoming U.S. congressional hearing on observations of UFOs/UAPs, which took place last week. Though mostly irrelevant to the very "material" things the hearing focused upon, an awareness of Spirituality is extremely important in how we go about researching extraterrestrial life. 

Spiritual assistance is available for every challenge we face.  We can experience Miraculous outcomes on a global scale, a personal scale and even in our approaches to exploring life beyond our planet.  The more we diminish our focus on Spirituality, the more we will very tragically fail - and be fearful, confused and misled - and the more we will experience frailty, chaos, cruelty, conflict, isolation and suffering that need not be.  The keys we need are on a Higher level, when we consciously seek to raise our awareness of Divine Unconditional Love.

This Tuesday, there will be an open congressional hearing in the U.S. on the UFO phenomenon, and this has not happened in over 50 years.  How can we reflect on this topic in a spiritual context, beyond a strictly "nuts and bolts" perspective?  It's important to note that science and spirituality, when they honestly and non-dogmatically explore genuine pathways to truth, are not at odds with one another.  Even so, we can expect significant discussions from multiple perspectives as this new chapter unfolds.
