  • The model for creating what you want

Today I want to talk about the tool that guides pretty much everything I do in my business, my life, and my coaching.

It’s called the self coaching model and it was created and popularized by Brooke Castillo of the Life Coach School.

It is so simple and also so powerful.

The results people consistently create with it are what convinced me to get certified in this tool specifically.

Essentially the model is a simple way to break down the elements of everything in your life and work into a simple, understandable, solvable format.

In this episode I'm walking you through what this self coaching model is, how it works, and how to use it to create what you want.

  • Play your way to your goals

Playtime is not just for kids.

Studies show play is one of the most effective ways to learn and grow for all humans.

And when you play and have fun, for the sake of having fun, you reduce your stress, increase your creativity and problem solving, and improve your work performance and personal relationships.

But what is play and how do you do more of it? Listen in to find these answers and more.

  • Stop trying to control other people and situations

Imagine if you could simply hand everyone in your life a manual telling them how to behave so that you can go about your day with ease and happiness.

You wouldn't have to spend so much time and effort attempting to manipulate and control people so they'll do what you want.

Today I want to give you an alternative that while not as magical as a manual, can still let you stop controlling people.

It will help you feel in control, despite what other people do. And it will free up so much of your time and energy so you can spend it on the things you actually care about.

  • Making decisions ahead of time

One of the most effective decision making tools or approaches is to make decisions ahead of time.

Meaning you make decisions with your logical brain before your emotional, less advanced and less logical brain takes over in the moment when stress or excitement rule.

This method of making decisions leads to creating amazing results in your work and life.

Making decisions ahead of time means deciding how you want to respond, what you want to do, or how you want to feel in advance of an actual event.

Listen to the full episode to learn practical applications for this in your day-to-day work and your life. You will thank yourself later.

  • How to stop your indecision

Indecision runs rampant for so many people in so many areas of life these days. We have more decisions to make than ever, and a lot of time it's easier and more comfortable to simply put off decisions in the moment.

However, the impact of your indecision goes way beyond just your own brain and day.
Indecision creates an ongoing open loop of unmade decisions that exhausts you and holds back the people you work with from making the desired progress in your work.

In practice, indecision can look like avoiding a task, procrastinating on something that needs an answer or action, or constantly seeking and waiting for input or feedback from someone else instead of just deciding and moving forward.

Today I'm  talking about how to recognize indecision in yourself and your team, why you struggle with indecision, and what you can do to overcome it and start making more decisions, with greater ease, clarity, and confidence.

  • 5 Hidden ways your self-talk impacts you

You know that inner dialogue that's always running through your brain? All the flaws you're noticing, the mistakes you obsess over, the shortcomings you notice and call out continually?

What most of us don’t realize is that that dialogue is that all of these are not the factual observations you think they are.  They're actually optional thoughts.

And, when these thoughts go unnoticed or untended, they get in your way in ways you probably aren't even aware of.

Today I'm talking about the five major ways your self-talk can impact your work and your life, and how you can challenge those thoughts to help you create results you want instead.

  • Enough time for everything

We all have the same 24 hours available to us each day. And most of us are always wishing for more.

But would more time actually change anything? Why do we all accomplish such different things and feel so different with the time we have?

    Why is there never enough?

In this episode, I share how you can answer these questions for yourself and have time for everything you want.

Yes, it's possible. And it's easier than you might think.

  • The hot mess perfectionist vs the imperfect expert

Are you the hot mess perfectionist of the imperfect expert?

The hot mess perfectionist is the woman who feels like she's never being, doing, or having enough because she just can't seem to use her work skills to achieve in her life.

The imperfect expert is great at what she does and also knows that perfection is not a useful goal.

Actually, you're probably both of these characters. We all are.

In this episode learn why you are both of these, what it means for your stress and your success, and get my 5 steps to reduce the impact of perfectionism on your life.

  • Why it's so hard to toot your own horn

Whether it’s creating your resume, writing a catchy bio or even accepting a compliment, acknowledging and talking about how amazing you are is something most people are uncomfortable with.

In this episode I'm sharing the reasons you’re uncomfortable and what you can do to be more comfortable both in accepting how wonderful and accomplished you are and talking about it with greater ease and frequency.

Think you're fine just being modest and discounting yourself still? Here's why you should care.

People who acknowledge their role in creating their results have more confidence, receive more recognition, get paid more, are exposed to greater opportunities, and have more fun in life and work.

And, the more you acknowledge and claim your own greatness, the more you open the door for others to do the same.

  • What got you here won't get you there

You know the saying, “what got you here, won’t get you there?”

I find it really captures that transition from the work that you have excelled at doing thus far (and that got you promoted and accelerated your career) into work that feels totally new and uncomfortable as you take on increasingly challenging roles in management or business ownership.

Today we're talking about three skills that will most serve you as you advance to higher levels, how they differ from your current skills, and how to develop them.

Because the skills you need at the higher levels aren’t often taught or nurtured in a way that helps you grow quickly and confidently.
