In this episode, Dennis Berry interviews his high school friend Chris D'Amico. Chris lost his 10 year old son, Christopher, in a tragic boating accident in 2015. He discusses how he has been coping with life after losing your child, which is the worst possible thing that could ever happen to you in life.  

It was a honest touching genuine conversation with old friends.   

Since the accident, Chris started an organization called Kindness for Christopher, where he encourages acts of kindness everyday, but especially on the 24th of every month, which is when the accident occurred. The effects of Kindness for Christopher have been felt worldwide.

This is the second interview with Michael "Miles" Standish, the Vice President of NGC (Numismatic Guaranty Corporation) and Dennis Berry on The Funky Brain Podcast.

Great talk about Silver American Eagles, the precious metals market, rare coins and even some business and marketing techniques tossed in there.

Miles is an incredibly successful, world renowned numismatic collectible coin expert. He has graded more coins than anybody in the world and was personally responsible for authenticating and grading almost all of the world's most valuable coins.

NGC is the world's largest 3rd party coin grading service. It is one of the top 4 recognized grading services (NGC, PCGS, ICG, ANACS). Most people who live in our world of coins, especially the old timers, would argue that NGC and PCGS are the only top services.

The reason is that they grade to much higher standards. Their certified coins tend to trade at much higher values as a result.

For example, a Morgan Silver Dollar graded MS63 from ICG or ANACS might only grade MS60 from NGC or PCGS.

PCGS stands for Professional Coin Grading Service. ICG stands for Independent Coin Graders ANACS stands for American Numismatic Association Certification Service

Anyway, that is just a little coin education. NGC is the largest service and Miles has been instrumental in making it so.

He is also the author of 2 Best Selling books: Morgan Dollar: America's Love Affair With a Legendary Coin and American Silver Eagles: A Guide to the U.S. Bullion Coin Program

Both are award winning coin books and everybody who collects coins has a copy in their home.

Incredibly honored and humbled to have NFL Legend Karl Mecklenburg on the Funky Brain Podcast with Dennis Berry. Former Denver Broncos Captain and All-Pro Linebacker Karl Mecklenburg rose from being a college walk-on and a 12th round draft pick to a pro career that included six Pro Bowl and three Super Bowl appearances. Considered the NFL’s most versatile player, Karl played all seven defensive front positions. Bronco coaches wanted him at the point of attack and would move him throughout the game. There were games where Mecklenburg played all seven positions in the course of a single game.

In 2001, Karl was inducted into the Denver Broncos Ring of Fame and the Colorado Sports Hall of Fame. Karl was a semifinalist for the Pro Football Hall of Fame for eight consecutive years.
