The Future of Abortion If Roe is Overturned

Listen Later

Next summer, the Supreme Court is expected to deliver its ruling on a Mississippi law banning most abortions after fifteen weeks. The decision could effectively gut the protections of Roe v. Wade and put an end to abortion rights all over the country, with at least twelve states at the ready to enact trigger laws.
We’ve talked many times on the show about the constitutionality of Roe v. Wade and recent legal battles over abortion rights, but today we wanted to focus on the boots-on-the-ground realities of life after Roe since, as host Carousel Bayrd says, “it’s not a matter of if but when.”
For this hour, Carousel is joined by history and law professor Leslie J. Reagan and Wisconsin state representative Lisa Subeck to cover the practical issues surrounding accessing abortion and reproductive care in a post-Roe America.
