March is 5th annual Ladder Safety Month according to the National Home Builders Association ladder accidents records a huge percentage of home buildings and jobsite injuries. Estimates of 81 percent of construction cites fall injuries treated in hospital emergency rooms involved a ladder. According to the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health about 300 people die from ladder related incidents among 500,000 people treated each year. The estimated annual cost of ladder injuries in the US is 24 billion including work loss, medical, legal, liability, pain and suffering expenses which reminds us to be safe and be cautious in using ladder for whatever reason it may be.
And the national news, a typical home that is for sale was on the market for just 21 days in January according to the National Association of Realtors that is down from 43 days 1 year earlier. That means that fewer homes that are for sale caused the homes that are for sale to sell quickly. So quickly that 71 percent of the homes that are for sale in January were on the market for less than a month. Laurence Yun NAR chief economist said home buyer demand has started the year strong, home sales continue to ascend in the first month of the year. Sales could have been 20 percent higher if there had been more inventory and more choices. We have a situation here that just had not existed here in the Tulsa metro area before.
