On this segment of 5 Minutes of G-Funk... We bring bring to you one of the dopest albums in West Coast hip-hop, a crown jewel of Chicano Rap and one of our all time favorite albums ever.

We pieced together this episode to give you a glimpse into what we consider Mr. Lil One's magnum opus, explain a bit of the making of this album and its potential to have gone on to debut on Eazy-E's very own Ruthless Records.

Westside Connection was a movement. A force to be reckoned with. Their 1996 genre defying group effort made quite the scene, drawing both praise and criticism for their criticism of the industry bias against the West Coast during the rise of the East vs West beef. I discuss the origins, influences and objective of the group’s formation, along with their legacy to this day. I know I try to make these 5 minutes, but there was so much more I wanted to say that I ended up going over a few minutes.

About a month ago Lefty Gunplay made a guest appearance on the Fat Joe and Jadakiss podcast where Fat Joe, once again, peddled this story about Kid Frost being racist. After some time, I decided to drop my opinion on the matter since I keep hearing a lot of nonsense on the internet dragging Kid Frost's name through the mud and continuing the trend of slandering the man's name and contributions.Here I pull up the receipts and breakdown this "rumor" perpetuated by the industry titan who's been known to stretch the truth.
