In this video, I explore how small actions, when done consistently over time, can begin working in your favour in ways that are not always visible at the beginning. Learning a new skill, building a mechanic, sharing your progress, receiving feedback, and repeating that cycle may seem small in the moment, but together they can become something much more powerful.

This is not only about improving as a developer. It is also about building a stronger project, a clearer direction, a more visible presence, and eventually a business model that becomes more solid with time.

One of the biggest ideas behind this video is that the early stages of growth can feel slow, almost flat, and that can be discouraging. But in many cases, that is not a sign that nothing is happening. It is a sign that the foundation is still being built.

Six months of 2026 are already gone, and this is the moment to ask yourself an honest question: are you truly closer to becoming a game developer, or have you only been staying busy?

In this video, I wanted to go deeper than Unreal Engine features, tutorials, plugins, portfolios, or job applications. Those things matter, but they are not enough by themselves. Becoming a game developer requires transformation. It requires discipline, consistency, direction, and the ability to return to your path even when life gets heavy.

Many aspiring creators do not fail because they cannot learn Unreal, Blueprints, C++, game design, AI, animation, UI, or mechanics. They fail because they keep returning to the same habits, the same excuses, and the same version of themselves that kept them stuck in the first place.

This episode is a reminder that progress is not about perfection. It is about becoming a little better every day. Maybe today you only have thirty minutes. Maybe you fix one bug, improve one mechanic, organize one idea, post one update, or make one uncomfortable decision. That counts, as long as something happens.

I also talk about the importance of creating and sharing your work, because opportunities rarely come from silence. Your progress needs to become visible. Your project needs feedback. Your growth needs direction. And sometimes, you need support from someone who can ask the questions you are avoiding.

The latest State of Unreal introduced game-changing updates, and some of them may feel intimidating at first.

When the tools we use begin to evolve, it is natural to ask what that means for the skills we are building today and how we should prepare for what comes next.

But these changes can also be viewed as an incredible creative opportunity.

Epic Games is developing tools that may give us more freedom to build the worlds we have always imagined, explore ideas that once felt out of reach, and reduce some of the barriers between an idea and a finished experience.

We do not need to understand or master everything immediately.

The important step is to remain curious, continue creating, and gradually prepare ourselves for the direction game development may be moving.

Over the last few years, I have interviewed around 200 aspiring game developers from different countries, careers, age groups, and life situations. Despite their differences, I kept seeing the same pattern: many were learning constantly, working hard, and starting projects, but still struggling to move closer to a real opportunity in the game industry.

The biggest lesson was not that they needed more tutorials, courses, tools, or information. In many cases, they needed a better strategy.

Learning only becomes progress when it turns into something you can create, improve, finish, and share. A portfolio is not there simply to prove that you are passionate about games. It needs to show what you can do, how you think, how you solve problems, and the level of quality you can produce.

That is the main idea behind this new video: breaking into the game industry is about building trust through evidence.

A clear technical breakdown can build trust.
Sharing your process and consistently improving your work can build trust.

You do not need to wait until someone gives you permission to become a game developer. You need to start building proof that you are ready for the next opportunity.

This is one of the most personal videos I have created for the Game Creator Accelerator.

The idea started with a simple question: what would I tell myself if I could go back ten years, before starting my path into game development?

Because when I started, I had passion, ambition, discipline, and a lot of ideas. But I also had assumptions. I believed some things would work because they sounded logical from the outside. I thought certain platforms, projects, opportunities, and decisions were taking me closer to the gaming industry, when in reality, some of them were making the path longer, slower, and more confusing.

In this video, I go through ten lessons I wish I had understood earlier. Some of them are practical. Some of them are uncomfortable. Some of them go against advice that sounds common in the industry. But all of them come from real experience, real mistakes, and real years of trying to build a path as a game creator.

This is not a video about becoming perfect before you start. It is about understanding the path with more clarity, protecting your time, choosing better directions, and building something that can actually help you move toward the future you want.

And the countdown matters.
