The Game Overcast episodes
- 012: Mike Appears! Disney Wants To Do What?! Nintendo Patents, AI Team Layoffs, PS6 Discussions and more!
The Mike Game Cast – Season 2, Episode 4 (Episode 12)
Episode 12 of The Game Overcast is here! And we have our first special guest!
This week we talk about:
- Disney & Epic Games. Rumours are swirling that Disney could be eyeing up a purchase of Fortnite maker Epic Games, with new CEO Josh D'Amaro reportedly keen on the deal. What would this mean for gaming?
- Nintendo Patent Rejected. The USPTO has thrown out Nintendo's "Summon and Battle" patent for being too obvious. Could this protect monster-battling games from Nintendo's legal reach?
- Take-Two Ditches AI Team. While other studios race to embrace AI, Take-Two has laid off its entire AI division. CEO Strauss Zelnick remains a sceptic. Is he onto something?
- PEAK Dev Claps Back. The developer behind PEAK has fired back at "lazy dev cycle" accusations, arguing that any update is a bonus, not a right. Do paying customers deserve more?
- Sony PS6 Handheld Rumours. Leaks suggest Sony may be returning to the handheld market with a PS6 portable, reportedly packing more power than an Xbox Series S. Could this take on the Switch?
- $1000 PS6?!. Industry consultants are warning that next-gen console pricing could hit four figures. Is console gaming on its way to becoming a luxury hobby?

1 hr 6 min - 010: Trying A New Format, A New Home, NVIDIA DLSS 5 And More!
The Game Overcast – Season 2, Episode 2 (Episode 10)
Episode 10 of The Game Overcast is here, and this time we are chatting about the podcast officially becoming part of Save Slot Studios, what that means for the show, and what Save Slot Studios is all about.
We also get into the reaction to NVIDIA and DLSS 5, and why so many people seem fed up with it. On top of that, we talk about how hard it is to actually find time to game and stream these days, especially when life seems to get busier the older you get.
We also have a look at the Spring Steam Sale and the sort of games and deals we are hoping to grab, before moving on to the big SteamOS update and whether a new Steam Machine could actually have a chance, or if it is already doomed because of hardware shortages.
And of course, we had to talk about Pokémon. With older games getting re-released, some people are really happy, while others are left disappointed. We chat about why the reaction has been so mixed, and which older games we would love to see brought back next.
