  • VA ? - Booty Implants & Other Surgery, Is it A Plus or a Poor Attempt @ Attention?
We here at GaptoothDiva always advocate for those who choose to work with what they got without the assistance of medical surgery, and we also do not spew negativity towards those who refuse to do so. However, with so many well-known celebrity females opting to enhance their figures with surgery, and the new sprout of groupies turned celebrities based off surgical add-ons, we can’t help but wonder if VA is on this crazy epidemic or have we chosen to be much more appreciative of our sizes? The GaptoothDiva asked a few people and wants to get one of our favorite rap groups in on the conversation tonight. Check out the bio from Fam Thick and be sure to tune in tonight for 100% WTFs and OMGs.
Fam Thick will be promoting their new music on the show and you can also check them out at the following Show Dates:
9/25: Performing at the Landmark Theater with Travis Porter
9/30: Performing with Noah O. at The Camel, 1621 West Broad Street, Richmond, from 9 - 2 am
10/30: Meechie and Crystal's Halloween Party at the Red Room,404 Westover Blvd. Richmond, VA 23225, from 10 - 2 am
FAM THICK is the one of the most diverse, energetic and exciting Southern hip hop groups to have picked up a microphone in the last few years, but of course, that's only one man's opinion. With what’s been described as an "accidental" meeting and forming of the group for, (photo’d from L to R), Slim daLt., Big Shay and Skrilla has certainly paid dividends and seems to be exactly what their hometown of Richmond, Virginia has been missing, an avenue into the mainstream. Recording, performing and entertaining is what these three very different individuals do and has been the bridge that has gapped and sealed the deal for fans all along the East Coast; that Fam Thick is a "problem" that they don't mind, and would much rather prefer, going unsolved...

  • GaptoothDiva Radio - Interview with D.O.E. The Paperboy Tuesday 09/21/2010 @ 9pm
The interview you missed in August is now tonight!!
The dynamic contrast between D.O.E and his character counterpoint. The Paperboy highlight the ironies of the everyday struggle concerning self respect achieved through personal enlightenment verses the respect one feels from ones peers on a more material and superficial level; an eternal struggle faced by many of today’s youth/young people, as well as the very struggle that Hip-Hop music itself faces as of lately. D.O.E. addresses these issues in songs such as: All of My Life, Trapped in The Game (Vol. 1 and 2),and Children of The Ghetto, where as The Paperboy hypes the crowd and livens up the party with banging hits that have mainstream appeal, such as Swagga,Throw Them Vs Up (Anthem of Virginia)and How We Do. These songs have grown popular all over the world due to the enormous success of D.O.Es Exclusiv Mix-Tape series (Vol.1 and 2), and his notorious Myspace fame (myspace.com/vaskpaperboy); of which D.O.E. currently has over 80,000 loyal viewers and over half a million spins world wide. D.O.E. is a lively entertainer and has veteran experience performing in front of diverse live audiences of all sizes, and has performed in just about every type of venue there is, ranging from dance-halls, ..open mics,.. clubs, and large stadiums (most notably Virginia Commonwealth University‘s Siegel Center in 2007, and Virginia State University‘s Rogers Stadium, in 2005). The range of D.O.E’s talents are as wide as his reach. These talents include everything from being a Hip-Hop Lyricist and Recording Artist, to R.& B. Songwriter, to even being a Supporting Actor in a local independent film. • Interview w/ Rap Trio The Fyve Footaz of Charged Up Entertainment Tonight 8/24/10 at 9pm
GaptoothDiva gets her favorite 5 ft. tall rap trio, The Fyve Footaz, in the virtual studio to showcase some of their new music, new upcoming events, and their opinions about the industry, their relationships, and what it takes to get to the top. Please tune in to comment or ask questions because with these three... you just never know.
The group started out writing and recording in the basement of Banditville under the label of VaRioTeam, which was the label that they were under at the time. After recording their first album at Banditville with the Young City Bandits in 2001, the group then called Extreme Caution, was forced to break up due to the incarceration of Oh! After a 7 year lapse, Extreme Caution advanced to Da 5yve Footaz adopting a new member. During that 7 year period of not recording as a group, Jus B. Chill continued writing and recording in honor of Oh!, keeping it trill. Da 5yve Footaz are now affiliates of Divine Sonz and its movement. They are now a part of that same movement, Charged Up Ent. Da 5yve Footaz have been a group since July of 2009 and the group consists of Jus B. Chill, Oh! aka U.D.K. and new member Young Yankee. They are all under 6 feet, hence the name. Jus B. Chill and Oh! are the two original members who have been rapping together since they were teenagers. Young Yankee, the youngest member of the group, also produces tracks for the group. Together they have written over 50 songs. They bring a mixture of that VA and New York swagger. With their dedication, enthusiasm, love for music and love for entertaining, this group is sure to be around for a long time. They now share the same dream as Charged Up Ent.

  • Interview w/ Author & Self-Publisher Marcus Campbell of CLUB S.E.X.
GaptoothDiva will talk openly with Author and Self-Publisher Marcus Campbell. Marcus will discuss how his life went from trials & tribulations to creating his own literary spin on sensuality by writing his book on his sexual experiences, titled Club S.E.X (Sensual Erotic X-citement).
We promise not to blush on this episode, but we promise a lot of things don't we?
Marcus Campbell was born and raised in the Highland Park, Northside neighborhood in Richmond, Va. He and his younger brother of six years were raised in a single parent home by their mother. But unlike most single parent homes their father was always around and in their lives. Growing up he was involved in a variety of different things from cub scouts to playing little league sports for Hotchkiss Field. He graduated from John Marshall High School in 1993 where he was a standout baseball player who made it to play American Legion baseball. After graduating he soon fell into the trap that so many of our young black men fall victim to, by getting in trouble and being incarcerated. While incarcerated in 2002 after reading a Zane novel he decided to write a similar book but from a male from the hood point of view. After being released in 2008 and not being able to find a job because he's a convicted felon and not being able to find a publisher for his book. He decided to do it himself, he wrote, typed, printed, edited and binded the book with no help from anyone. He also wrote a second book titled 'Thoughts of A Young Black Man" while incarcerated and he hopes to have that published by the end of the year. Mr. Campbell loves sports his favorite teams are The Philadelphia Eagles, Los Angeles Lakers, and Atlanta Braves. This year he even began coaching little league baseball for North Richmond. Mr. Campbell currently lives in Richmond has two kids and is engaged to their mother.

  • Accepting the You, You Are! (LIVE from Shardee's Hair Studio) Sat. HANGOVER 8/7/10 @ 12pm
Due to my recent decision to rock my natural locks for a while and still maintain DIVA status, I've been getting many questions about my confidence level and how I'm holding up.
First of all, I wasn't in some horrific accident that left me deformed and mangled. I just took the weave out! Damn, is it that bad? Don't answer that because I don't really care.
I wanted to have segment where I asked people about their opinions on their own body image and how they perceive women with different characteristics than themselves. I want to know is all the "accepting my flaws and just being me" a hype or are women really down for the cause, and if so do they apply those same policies towards other women?
I will also be interviewing the owner, Ms. Sharon Davis about her journey into the hair care industry and tips on how to maintain the beauty that is me. lol :-)
Broadcasting LIVE from one of Richmond's most creative hair salons, Shardee's Hair Studio & Spa, the GaptoothDiva will spark up the conversation and the inspiration.

  • interview with Singer/Poet J’Lee Maldonado Tues 8/3 @ 9pm
GaptoothDiva chats with phenomenally gifted singer and poet, J’Lee Maldonado about pursuing her dreams in music, poetry and social work, while trying to live a “regular” life.Born January 23, 1983, Jennifer Lee Maldonado aka J’Lee is a 27 yr. old female singer/writer from Astoria Queens, NY. J’Lee is of mixed heritage and was raised by a single mother. Growing up was no easy task for J’Lee so she turned to school, basketball, music, singing, and writing poetry as therapeutic outlets. J’Lee has stated that “a song is just a prayer waiting to be spoken and a prayer is just a song waiting to be sung,” having gone through life with this belief in mind, J’Lee maintains that the ability to be creative has kept her grounded throughout the trials and tribulations she faced during childhood and adolescent years. J’Lee graduated from Skidmore College in 2005 with a B.A. in Government/Law & Society and more recently graduated from VCU in Richmond, VA (where she currently resides) with a Masters Degree in Clinical Social Work. While she is passionate about helping the likes of all people and animals (more specifically pit-bulls), J’Lee considers herself a “contemporary ghetto fabulous hippy” – a compassionate humanitarian who believes that we need to “be the change we seek in the world.” Despite academic accomplishments, J’Lee feels as if something is still missing, as if she’s losing her creative self and true purpose in the day to day hustle known as life, work and bills – and no longer wants to ignore her passion for music.
