  • Turning Your Mess into a Message with Writer and Poet LaCretia Lewis
In this episode of GaptoothDiva Radio, we discuss the journey of turning your mess into a message. S many of us have endured struggles and challenges in life, but very few of us use those obstacles as an opportunity to uplift and inspire others.
We are on the air with our special guest, LaCretia Lewis, also known as "Forepleasure". A 36-year old Richmond, VA native and a proud mother to three daughters. Having become a single parent at the age of 16, LaCretia holds a special place in her heart for young women that have endured a similar journey.
LaCretia’s passion is to empower young people, who much like her, have been and are facing daunting challenges. Today's youth grapple with abuse, depression, peer pressure, pregnancy, and sexual issues ranging from harassment to identity, at a much earlier age. Through her organization, BRANDED, LaCretia aspires to provide the "village" and offer young people a safe space, and wise counsel, in addition to tangible tools for success, as they navigate life's rocky terrain.

  • Mother and Daughter Domestic Violence Chat ft. New Music and Vega Shaw Interview
In this episode of GaptoothDiva Radio, we discuss the serious issue of domestic violence with the home. However, tonight’s conversation isn’t about between man, woman, lover, spouse, or partner, like many of the conversations we hear about often. Tonight’s DV conversation centers on Mother and Daughter. With so many stories surfacing about daughters killing their mothers, mother being arrested for assault, we wanted to allow space for honest dialogue about this issue on our platform. We know firsthand that the mother daughter dynamic can often be challenging and tumultuous at times, unlike the fairy tale friendships that we used to see on television. Tonight we chat about this issue and how we can potentially make a change.

  • Joseph Fountain: Faith, Getting Started, & Stepping Up | GaptoothDiva Motivation
From the talent showcase titled Motivate, my previous Flawesome Academy workshop, husband, father, and motivational speaker Joseph Fountain has been an incredibly inspiring man about town in Richmond, Virginia. I had the wonderful pleasure of chatting it up with him before the New Year as he talks about being a motivator for those in the community. It wasn’t until today, I was able to get my hands on the audio file to post this, but I believe it is just as powerful now as it was a few months back.
From his own testimony, he used to work as an engineer. He was laid off before his son was born, and after being rejected by many jobs while trying to get back into the workforce, he felt led by God to use his gifts to work for himself.
Joseph discusses not growing up in the most pristine of environments, describing his upbringing as rough. He was torn as a young man to make money and provide for his family. He talks about learning new avenues in life to provide for himself, his wife and children. He believes that God has better for us all, and that God saved him to go down an enriched path to motivate and help others find better ways to live.
