Hebrews 11:8-19; This teaching begins a three part Advent series. "Advent" means "waiting expectantly for something big to happen." Throughout the Bible, God's people wait. Abraham, by faith, waited expectantly for a son to be born and a family to grow. In Christ, we see the wait fulfilled and we now wait for Christ's return.

Mark 10:23-31: We examine part two of Jesus' encounter with the rich young man. After the man walks away, Jesus turns to his confused diciples and discusses riches and the Kingdom of God. In this world, we leave behind everything; but it's worth it.

Matthew 10:17-22; "Sell everything you have and give it to the poor." Jesus is approached by a rich, young man who ends up walking away with great sorrow. Why did Jesus command this man to get rid of everything? Why did he let him walk away? This teaching examines the danger of wealth and our motivation for generosity.

Hosea 14; Are some people too far gone? There are times we may feel that we are so deep in sin that there is no hope of return. As the message of Hosea closes and as it's made clear that Isreal has wandered very far away, we end with a word of hope, instructions of finding the road home.

Hebrews 12; Israel abandoned truth. The ways of the land eventually became the ways of Israel. They became like that which they once fought against simply because they abandoned truth. This sermon looks at the question: what happens when we abandon truth? and addresses the subtle (and not so subtle) ways that modern culture has impacted the church.

Hosea 11; More often than not, we feel like we're drifting through life. We are in a cultural current that takes us where it wants to take us, and we are prone to drift. The problem is that drifting ends in destruction. This sermon brings hope for the drifting soul.

Hosea 8-10; The more Israel grew, the more they drifted. The better their nation became, the more they lost their trust in God. Prosperity, while morally neutral, can be dangerous. For Israel, their prosperity proved for them to be desctructive. This message seeks to destroy the prosperity "Gospel" through exposing the danger of prosperity.

Hosea 6-7; The first three verses of chapter 6 sounds a lot like repentance. It seems for a brief moment that everything is better - yet it's not. God responds, "What do I do with you?" This sermon addresses fake repentance. It is for those who look like they've repented but have not. Hosea 6-7 show us five ways that Israel "returned" which led to a false repentance.
