She started training under her father Mahavir Singh Phogat’s guidance at the age of eight. In 2016, She won the gold medal at the Commonwealth Wrestling Championship in Singapore in the 48 Kg category. In the same year she won her second consecutive title at the annual National wrestling championships and signed a contract with the Jaipur ninjas franchise at the Pro Wrestling League action. In 2017, She also became the first Indian to win silver medal in the 48kg category in world U-23 Wrestling championships. Later in 2019, she signed with one championship with the intention of making her mixed martial arts debut. In 2021 she became ONE Women’s Atomweight World Grand Prix runner up.

She began her wrestling career with the Pro Wrestling League in which she represented the Delhi sultans. She has won a bronze in 2018 Asian Championship. Then she underwent a right knee surgery in 2018 and missed the world championship earlier and then gone through operation on her left knee in 2019 before the trials for the Asian championship. Despite this injury, she gave a stellar performance at the world wrestling championship trials in 2021 and she made our country proud by becoming national champion for the 1st time in the 62 kg category. She’s keeping her spirits high and working hard for the next year’s Asian games.
