Have you ever said the “right” thing... and it completely missed? Or barely tried, and somehow it landed perfectly?
In this episode of The Gates in Real Life, we explore Gate 22- moving from the Shadow of Dishonor, into the Gift of Graciousness, and ultimately the Siddhi of Grace. This is the gate of emotional presence, timing, and the subtle but powerful truth that your energy speaks before your words ever do.
For coaches, this conversation hits close to home. Because messaging, marketing, leadership, and even client sessions are not just about what you say, they’re about the state you’re in when you say it.
We unpack how suffering softens us, how timing matters, why some messages don’t land, and how grace is not something you perform... it’s something you become.
Inside this episode, we talk about:
Whether you actively use Human Design, the Gene Jeys, or simply contemplate the wisdom of the gates, this episode is an invitation to soften, receive what’s hard, and let your presence do more of the work.

Doubt hits different when you’re a coach because you’re not just selling a “thing,” you’re selling you.
In this episode of The Gates in Real Life, Heidi and Melissa explore Gate 63 in Human Design and the Gene Keys - the Gate of Doubt, aka the Sacred Skeptic - and why doubt isn’t the enemy... it’s pressure that can either crush you or sharpen you.
You’ll hear the big nuance most coaches miss: doubt is meant to question ideas, not your worth.
When doubt turns inward, it becomes paralysis - overthinking, waiting for the perfect moment, needing certainty before you post, sell, pitch, or lead. But when you shift into the Gift of Inquiry, doubt becomes curiosity without attachment; the ability to live in the question long enough for clarity to arrive.
Heidi and Melissa also talk about the “escape hatches” coaches use when self-doubt spikes - hiding in more education, chasing someone else’s framework, trying to manufacture certainty through dogma, data, or rules.
Then they offer a cleaner path: share the doubt out loud, regulate the nervous system, and ask better questions like “Is this true?” and “What else could be true?” until you can literally doubt your doubt.
The episode lands in the Siddhi of Truth - not fact-based certainty, but the kind of truth that emerges internally when you stop forcing answers and surrender into the unknown. If you’ve been feeling wobbly, second-guessy, or stuck in mental loops, this is a powerful reset.

Is your business built on mutual support, or quiet fear that you have to do it all alone?
In this episode of The Gates in Real Life, we explore Gate 37 in Human Design – the Gate of Friendship – and how it shapes our relationships in life and in business.
Through the Gene Keys lens of Weakness → Equality → Tenderness, we unpack how the feminine has been culturally undervalued, how that shows up in the way we coach and market, and what it really means to build a business rooted in connection, community, and care.
This episode isn’t just about friends. It’s about the relationships you’re creating through your coaching, your marketing, and your values – and how to reclaim your power without hardening your heart.
You’ll hear reflections on:
We even touch on Friends the TV show (yes, really), the myth of feminine weakness, and how to rethink marketing as contributing to a cultural conversation instead of trying to get people to say yes.

What if freedom wasn’t something you achieve, but something you remember?
In this episode of The Gates in Real Life, we explore Gate 55 in Human Design and Gene Keys - the gate of spirit, emotional depth, and ultimate freedom.
Whether you’re craving time freedom, location independence, or the emotional space to finally be yourself in business, Gate 55 shows you how to move from victimization to true inner liberation.
We unpack what it means to release the need to control outcomes, stop blaming outside forces like time, money, or algorithms, and instead learn how to honor the full emotional wave of being a coach and a human.
This is also the Gene Key Richard Rudd calls “the heart of the entire transmission”, so yes, it’s a big one.
You’ll hear reflections on:
Whether you have this gate defined or not, Gate 55 lives in all of us.
This conversation is your invitation to stop forcing, start trusting... and fly.

In this episode of The Gates in Real Life, we unpack how this gate shows up in your coaching business when you're out of alignment, and what it looks like to move from emotional reactivity into conscious revolution.

What if the most magnetic thing about you, wasn’t how you speak, but how you listen?
In this episode of The Gates in Real Life, we explore Gate 13 in Human Design - the Gate of the Listener - and how its energy shapes intimacy, discernment, messaging, and emotional depth in your coaching business.
Whether you're naturally someone others confide in, or you're learning to set boundaries around what you hold, this episode helps you reframe listening as a business skill, not just a personal one.
We also connect Gate 13 to the Gene Keys progression of Discord → Discernment → Empathy, and share reflections on how this shows up in the coaching industry... from trauma dumping to info overload to over-sharing online.
You'll hear how to shift out of noisy performance energy and into grounded presence that actually attracts the right people.
And because this is the gate of secrets… yes, we talk about Taylor Swift and how her Conscious North Node in Gate 13 might just explain her global resonance, fan devotion, and ability to reflect the human experience back to the collective.
For coaches trying to build a business that feels deeply connected, this conversation will help you:

Are you building a coaching business around what you want... or what you think everyone else wants from you?
In this episode of The Gates in Real Life, we dive into Gate 19 in Human Design, also known as the Gate of Wanting.
We unpack the Gene Keys spectrum of Codependence → Sensitivity → Sacrifice and explore what it means to be deeply attuned to others without losing yourself in the process.
Perfect for coaches who’ve ever struggled with people-pleasing, undercharging, blurry boundaries, or making business decisions from fear instead of alignment.
You’ll hear personal stories about:
Plus, we explore how Gate 19, rooted in the Root Center, adds pressure for security, stability, and connection. And how that pressure can guide you toward building a more reciprocal, spacious business.
This episode offers a grounded, nuanced take on how sensitivity, self-worth, and strategy all intertwine, and is especially powerful if you’ve ever talked yourself out of an idea that lit you up… just to keep someone else comfortable.
