There is a striking pattern throughout all four gospel accounts of Jesus life: the more unsavory the characters, the more at ease they seemed to feel around Jesus. Meanwhile the more respectable types found him shocking, even revolting. So the question immediately arrises, what has happened to reverse the pattern of Jesus' day? To know Jesus' story I must, in the same way I get to know anyone else's story, learn something of his culture, family, and background.

The birth of Jesus is the incarnation of God. The God of the universe comes into our world; into our flesh. If Jesus came to reveal God to us, then what do we learn about God from the incarnation?
