Seeing life from God’s point of view will always push us to action and not complacency, to move forward and not to retract, to detach ourselves from the non-essentials and concentrate on the eternal. Very often, when we long for more “stuff” is because we desire to fill empty places in our hearts. Often times we believe that what we experience in our Christian walk is new. Paul reminded the church in Corinth that their struggles were not new and that Israel had experienced the same temptations as them. Israel's struggles are "warnings" for us today to not make the same mistakes they made when they forgot who God is.
