What does it take to be people on mission? What kind of people are we to be? Acts 6 tells the story of a man named Stephen, a man full of faith and of the Holy Spirit. Because of this man's faith the Gospel spread.

If one were to guess the number one prayer request we get at The Gathering each week what would this request be? Without fail the number one prayer request is..."please pray for me to know what God's will is in my life." As we make decisions one of our paper chains that keeps us from living in freedom is the fear of making the wrong choice. We can easily get caught in needing to know each step before we take it. Join us as we explore John 10 and how we can without a doubt know what God's will is for our lives.

The paper chains that keep us from becoming all that God created us to be are great, but perhaps the biggest paper chain is the idea that "God will never give me more than I can handle." This idea is an incomplete interpretation of 1 Corinthians 10:13. In effect, we are actually saying, "I don't need a savior" because the implication is that we save ourselves. Only God can save us. Only God is faithful. In the midst of our darkest night, God is there with us. We are not alone.

Often times we think to ourselves, "I just want to be happy." Is there something more? Are we missing something? Joshua teaches from 1 Peter to answer some of these questions.

Often times we hear the phrase, "I don't have a choice...". It's a misconception of the way out of addiction. Learning from Scripture, as well as recovering addicts in our midst, we know that the way out of our paper chains is our choice, and God's power.

What does Jesus say about prayer? We can learn through John's gospel how Jesus was the ultimate example of the Whatever It Takes Gospel. The way Jesus prayed gave us the model to surrender our own desires for his.
