We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life,

who proceeds from the Father and the Son.

With the Father and the Son he is worshiped and glorified.

When we talk about the Holy Spirit, several things happen. Some of us get nervous. Others get excited. Most of us are not sure what, or who, we are really talking about! This is actually very sad. The Spirit is the comforter, the teacher. And we need him.

We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ, the only Son of God, eternally begotten of the Father, God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made, of one Being with the Father.

What do you believe about Jesus? Is he the one you look to for a future salvation, or someone you know is active in your life? Did his death and resurrection change your life, or everyone’s? What we believe about Jesus changes who we are. Or at least it should.

We believe in one God, the Father, the Almighty, maker of heaven and earth, of all that is, seen and unseen. For some of us it is difficult to imagine God as father. There is too much baggage, too much disappointment, or too much looking up to our own dads. God reveals himself to us as Father. So, I do we reconcile our experience with all that he is?

NOTE: The first 10-15 mins on the teaching were not recorded. When God reveals himself to us through Scripture we find a consistent theme: God is love. We often miss this. We get lost in the beauty of Creation and never ask why it was created. We are overwhelmed by the grace of the Cross and never pause to seek the deepest reason it happened. We cry out to the Spirit for Comfort and do not wonder why it is promised. Love. God is love.

We believe you can hear from God. He is living and active in our world. So... how do we hear from God? And how do we know it is him? The first thing to do is listen deeply.

"The Lord has taken away your punishment." Do we believe this? Not merely know it to be true? This truth should impact every day of our lives and the communities around us.

Can we breathe life into our sleeping imaginations? Can we we join the Creator in imagining a different world?

Following God is difficult. Imagine what it was like for Hosea. Called to act out God's love for an unfaithful Israel, he married a wife who would never stay committed to him.

The thought of sharing our stories is overwhelming. Who will listen? Will it be safe? Sharing our sin & brokenness is even harder to imagine. Listen as we talk about it. Listen as Jessie Donahue dies it.

Your story is unique. God longs to use your story for his glory. Why? Why do we need to tell our story?
