The Gathering Place

We spend our lives trying to climb our way to God — trying harder, becoming better, reaching higher. But the gospel says God came down instead.

In this episode, Dale Watkins unpacks an ancient covenant where God alone bore the weight humanity couldn't carry — and weaves it into the true story of a grandmother's desperate prayer for her grandchildren, and how grace eventually reached one of them in a canyon he couldn't climb out of on his own.

If there's a dry place in your life right now, this episode is an invitation: you don't have to climb. Just come to the river.

What if the weight you've been carrying was never yours to carry alone? In this first episode of The Gathering Place, Dr. Dale Watkins opens with his own story — a 17-year-old boy sitting in a stranger's church, surrounded by thousands of people, and never feeling more alone. What happened next changed everything.

Dale introduces the four pillars that will anchor everything on this podcast: unbreakable grace, the sovereign grip of God, the covenant harness, and a listening heart. This is not a message from a distance. This is a man who has lived it, survived it, and come out the other side knowing one thing above all else — you are wanted by God.

If you've ever felt like you were climbing a mountain you weren't meant to climb alone, this episode is for you.
