In 1859, a lot of people were entertained by Charles Blondin's walk across Niagara Falls on a tightrope, but none of them put their trust in him. Sadly, that describes the state of so many people in our churches today: so often entertained by God without ever trusting in him, especially when it comes to our resources. But as we learn in the interesting story of how God tested Abraham with his most prized resource - his only son, Isaac - the provision of God doesn't come before a decision for God. In the area of finances, trusting God as our provider means deciding to open our hand in generosity toward others.
