Many believe that revival is simply an intense experience of God's presence, but that's only half of revival. True revival comes from seeing the King and then speaking about the kingdom.

Skyler Farley is a Campus Missionary to the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, and he wrapped up our ENCOUNTER services with a clear call about what the church needs to be doing now that Jesus has ascended. This one was strong, y'all.

Alan DiDio, Pastor at Encounter Christ Church and host of Encounter Today, stirred us with the reality that the Carolinas - and specifically, North Carolina - play a strategic role in the revival that is coming to our nation. We are the gate, and as followers of Jesus the Anointed One, we must carry the anointing into every situation in which we find ourselves.

Mike Field, Lead Pastor at Hope Church Charlotte, reminded us that camels are the worst at going and going and going until they suddenly fall to the knees and die. The reason? They've used up all their reserves and have nothing left in the tank. This is a gripping word about the dangers of not being able to sustain the revival and a sobering call to drink from the fountain of living water that never runs dry.

Teri Furr, Executive Pastor at The Refuge Church, brought a powerful word about why and how God wants to mark us for eternity, and reminded us that walking through the valley is a big part of how He does it.

What happens when we begin to see the trials we go through from God's perspective? We start to see ourselves as more than victims in the fire, and begin to live as victors who come through the fire. Learn how God uses the persecutions in our lives to mark us with His fire and authenticity, but also launch us into the world He loves with purpose and passion.

Something happened when Jesus broke the bread in Luke 24, and whatever it was, it opened the eyes of the two men who had been walking with Him on the road to Emmaus. In our final week of "Throwback," Paul shows how the breaking of the body invites the presence of the King, and puts us in positions to share that healing presence with others who are broken.

The early church was devoted to prayer, and if we want to experience the same explosive growth and miracles that they did, we'll need to devote ourselves to prayer, too. But the early church was devoted to fellowship on a whole other level, and in week 3 of our "Throwback" series, Paul breaks down what true koinonia looked like for them and what it should look like for us.

Sometimes, we make the mistake of treating the Bible as a mental exercise only, and so we spend time memorizing verses and policing others to make sure that they are obeying commands (often, the very commands that we've memorized). But as we learned this week, the point of the Bible isn't just to learn it and live it, but first and foremost, to LOVE it. We can't love the Son of God without also loving the Word of God, because Jesus is the Word made flesh. This powerful message will remind you how beautiful God's word is, why the early church was so devoted to it, and what happened because they were.
