If ever there was a counter-cultural practice, solitude is it. In fact, most of us would argue that we have way too much to get done to be able to set aside time to do nothing! But as Paul points out in Week 2 of Rhythms, nobody has more on his or her plate than Jesus, and if he practiced solitude and silence, it might be a good idea for us to do the same.
