The Generations Radio Program

Parents from Oregon choose not to use the American Medical Association recommended system for taking care of a premie baby, and the government charges them with murder. Meanwhile, parents in England had to watch their premie gasping for breath and dying, because the child didn’t qualify for medical care. Either way the child dies, and the parents must suffer. Kevin Swanson carefully walks through the principles that govern these matters of life and death.

Nobody was very surprised that Fox News Channel is collapsing under the weight of multiple sexual harassment scandals. The sexual objectification and soft porn that characterized the Fox News website gave us a sense of the management of the organization. We take a look at what the Bible says about sexual innuendo, sexual harassment, and the slight differences between the hypocrisy of Fox News and the hypocrisy of CNN. Comparing hypocrisies on this edition of the program, including that of the Church of Scotland.

The New Yorker Magazine features an article on the recent history of dystopian fiction, and its not a pretty sight. Modern dystopian literature is untrusting, lonely, sullen, helpless, and hopeless — unlike the older stuff. We also do a spread-sheet analysis on box office receipts on dystopian films, and find an exponential rise in just 20 years. What is happening to the post-modern world? The worse the news gets in the world, however, the better our news!

Public colleges are increasingly liberal, and entirely unhelpful at addressing either racism or illiteracy. They rather further encourage the breakdown of national unity and education. Nonetheless this is nothing do. They’ve been radicalizing students since the 18th Century. We discuss Shakespeare’s homo-erotic love sonnets, the obscenities in his plays, and the bad metaphysics in Romeo and Juliet, the Tempest, and MacBeth.

Does God have an opinion when it comes to education? Israel Wayne says, “Yes!” And so do men like John Murray, Gordon Clark, R.J. Rushdoony, and J. Gresham Machen. Should we be listening to them? We get into the nitty gritty of what this Christian education looks like. What about Christian Schools? Are they any better than public schools?

What does the church or the Christian school do when the pastor’s daughter or the board president’s daughter turns up pregnant out of wedlock? The New York Times featured an article which pitted pro-lifers against a Christian school that took a stand against pre-marital fornication (and tried to enforce their "rules"). This brings up a discussion on the nature of repentance, the problem of judgmentalism, the importance of church discipline, and assorted other worms residing in this particular can.

NPR’s Scott Simon makes note to atheist Richard Dawkins that atheist organizations are never seen helping people during wars, tragedies, or famines. But, why would atheists choose to be altruistic? The motive is going to be self-interest, unless there is a God-interest. We also take a look at the rise in suicide among the millennials, esp. with young girls. We cover the new television program “13 Reasons Why,” and provide our own 13 Reasons Why Not Commit Suicide.

Prejudicial Caricatures and Media Propaganda against certain sects constitute the first step towards persecution and genocides -- witness: Germany and Rwanda. Eccentric cults and Biblical Christians are being targeted in television programs and first-person shooter games.  We take a look at Far Cry 5 and The Handmaid's Tale as prime exhibits.

We do a quick review on the summer movie fare on this edition of Generations. The persona of Wonder Woman finds roots in Margaret Sanger, the founder of Planned Parenthood. Jack Sparrow of the Pirates of the Caribbean finds his roots in guys who hung on the gallows in 1721. Shall we encourage our children to endear themselves to guys who are drunk, commit adultery, and habitually steal from others? How does the Goddess Woman compare with the Godly Woman of Proverbs 31?
