Hello! This announcement provides a quick summary of what we're doing moving forward. I'll post the relevant details below as well.
As you probably already know, the Genesys Archives is a collection of stories played across many universes through the Genesys game system. This is why the podcast is called "The Genesys Archives" rather than "The Unseen World".
We have now reached the point where we feel secure enough in what we're doing and in audience interest to offer you two options for what next season will be:
Option 1: Season three of the Unseen World.
Option 2: Season one of a new campaign set in the world of Dragonfable, a browser-based role-playing game released in 2005/2006 and beloved by many, including GM Jonathan. We have been given permission by the creators of Dragonfable to publish our very fun fantasy adventure through this setting on the Genesys Archives.
— The players for this campaign will be Jonathan, Zander, Baaron, Nathaniel, and Ben Shirley.
— For the most part, the tone will be significantly lighter and less gritty than the Unseen World, though there are certainly twists and turns along the way. Jonathan also tries out some fun, experimental campaign structures that I, personally, think pan out in a really interesting way.
We're excited about both options, but we want to know what YOU want to hear, so we're going to let YOU choose!
There will be an audience-wide vote spanning from the release of the Unseen World Season 2 Q&A to probably sometime in early to mid-January.
We want to give you a taste of both campaign seasons to help you make your decision, so we will be releasing the following during this period of time:
NOVEMBER: The prologue session of DragonFable: Quest for the Blade!
DECEMBER: One short scene and one mini-session that both take place between seasons two and three of the Unseen World.
(I will also be making update announcements after each subsequent release until the voting period has concluded.)
We will, of course, be returning to the Unseen World either way. This vote just answers the question of when and provides you the opportunity to take a bit of a break with something more whimsical.
We are so so so so SO excited to be moving into this next evolution of the Genesys Archives and will be thrilled with the results either way. We hope you love these adventures half as much as we do.
